just ask around. i have released several things to the beta os scene. when i make a mistake i pull the release and send out a warning. unlike yourself which just releases and doesnt give a flying fudge about people. the way you are releaseing and testing your themes is flawed.

this is your fualt. no disclaimer or forum policy can protect you from this not being your fualt.

the only carelessness is a themer that released a broken theme pack. your theme windows x, since we have to spell it out for you

im not saying stop themeing im saying find a better way to test you themes before release. your current release and watch people's pc crash testing has got to stop. and calling those who have there pcs crash noobs has earned you a very bad reputation for being a complete idiot

I don't know about your SEVERAL but one thing I know is.....

Theme couldn't make PC crash. Head up and check my post for the real reason for trouble. I believe that most of PCs that get errors are using XPSP2 which LTP6 doesn't support it at all! Most of careless ppl didn't attend in this and get PC crash from their failure. For theme, I gave my theme to my clues as beta tester and found no problem. Now I've realized that I'll give system files only in my community.

P.S. I hate flaming so much and wonder why I always get flamed from noobs all whole month.....

pxleyes, it's you who sucks. Porting is not always in the same way. You're really stupid! I can grab original resources and put in theme easily for MOST accurate theme and earned pride from the likes of you. But I'm not Longhorn freak. This is my satisfying to make Longhorn theme loooks better in my own opinions and share it to ppl who want. Making accurate theme is easier than improving theme. Stop showing your habit. It doesn't give you any adventage from flaming. If you still continue this, you might be get banned from forum.

See what was posted above. I have done nothign wrong but voice my opinion that your themes are a waste.

damn guys, I dont know where to start, first of all, try to chill out, both pxleyes and windows x are out of line now.

[unbelievable] I agree with werejag this time, windows, if this is causing problems to the users, dont find excuses, find a better testing scheme, afterall, its your responsability [/unbelievable]

werejag, he started first and that's another kind of noobs.

<---Do not flame beyond this post--->

I don't want this topic to be closed by noobs again!

keep saying names like "noobs" its another way to flame, so cut it out, now.

for one the terms you use. aka noobs

for another blaming the user for your faults.

why dont you work to improve you distrobution of the theme pack. that is where the problem lies.

why dont we work past this and improve your themes

That's what I want but last line is just my complaining in past. I blamed them because They disagree in my terms and agreements to start complaining.

Back to story, can someone provide me the safest way to replace system files? This help can solve all mess.

how about you use guireplacer modules?

whaaa this is getting ridicolous

there are so many people here and elsewhere who have used and enjoyed windows x themes and modifications without damaging their pc. i havn't installed lhtp 6 , cause i have no need for it . but whoever installs it should beware of the risk he/she takes .

so don't flame him /her

@windowsX : u really should consider to release your themes here ... :shifty:

you cant hide behind some words on your themes called terms and agreements.

that gives you a bad image to the comunity

anyways

ill try to find you some information. a program to check if all required parts are installed would be ideal before the theme starts to modify any part of ones system.

I agree with neostyle...Why is everyone bashing WindowsX? I was actually one person who had my system crash after i installed lhtp6 but i don't blame WindowsX! Sh*t Happens!! After i restored my system i installed it and it worked perfectly! So quit bashing WindowsX...anyone heard of personal responsibility? Are you just gonna download something FREE and DEMAND that it meet your lofty expectations??? Get a life guys...

There are security holes in every OS dude...even your beloved Macintosh has been exposed this past week. Like I said...if you don't wanna take a risk don't own a computer and certinaly don't try to change the Visual Styles. That was my whole point...nothing is going to be perfectly safe so don't expect it to.

:D exactly too many kids today trying to be big boys. and saint dark for once I agree with you 100% you stated what I was saying cept in 1 smaller to the point post. thanks.

lol@for once, then I assume this is not usual ;)

His point was that X is responsible for the flaws in HIS visual style and installer.

I'm running it right now...and it works fine. I know that X is responsible for HIS visual style and installer but you guys don't need to jump all over him if there is a problem...oversights happen and he shouldn't have to worry about people like you bashing him after it happens. YOU INSTALLED IT...NOT X. You act like he was sitting behing his computer putting it together like an evil scientist bend on crashing everybodys computers. He made it cause everyone was screaming for something like it and then he made it and you guys bash him. READ THE AGREEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kona04, I can't agree with you more!!! :D I installed Mac OS X; therefore, I'm the one who's responsible for those security and crashing issues. I will take all the responsibilities because I have read the agreement before I installed Mac OS X. Don't Apple ever worry! :)

    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
    • On my music making (non internet) PC Sony Acid Pro 7.0 Adobe Audition 2015 Korg Legacy Collection Windows 7 SP1
    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
