Version 2.0 is released!

The "Lite" version doesn't include previous stuffs from Longhorn Transformation Pack for the adventages of users who have dial-up connection and want to use only Vista stuffs. This can save up lots of time and bandwidthes to download from over 25 MB to less than 5 MB!

What's different from "Full" version?

-1 font (Segoe UI+Bold only)

-2 skins (Longhorn SideBar, Vista) and Vista clock for Longhorn SideBar 6.0

-3 visual styles (Aero Style (Glass - 50xx), Aero Style (Glass - 51xx) and Aero Style (Vista - Beta 1))

-5 wallpapers (Keynote Glass+Widescreen, Keynote Grass+Widescreen and WinV_Wallpaper)

-Removed MSN skins

-Removed previewer

-Replaced all radio options with checkbox option (of course Vista's ones)

Changes in Version 2.0

-Added Glass2k (Make window transparent)

-Added LClock (Longhorn tray clock look with calendar)

-Added transformation repairing feature (Check for different file from backup and re-patch only that file)

-Fixed failing to patch system files in non-English OS (For sure this time)

-Fixed Longhorn SideBar first run error (not 100% and still occurs on another account)

-Fixed losing after transforming updated files during uninstallation

-Removed WhenU's bundled stuffs (I feel regret adding it but money pressure is really something)

-Updated Internet Explorer 7 icon with new branding for Vista's icons (I forgot to put it in last version)

-Updated visual styles

|-Splitted 50xx and 51xx themes in "Aero Style (Glass)"

|-Added "Thin TaskBar" theme into Aero Style

|-Remaked "Aero Style (Glass - 50xx)" visual style

|-Updated "Aero Style" (Glass and Vista - Beta 1) visual style with 5231 graphics

||-Transparent Start Button and TaskBandButton

||-New CaptionButton

||-New ComboButton

||-New ToolBarButtons

||-New TreeExpandCollapse

Where are the msstyles? I installed it and all seemed to go well but when I rebooted WB launched even though I had told it not to and now I can't seem to find how to load the style. Help?

:angry:

is there any way we can get an updated link? the one provided for vista transformation pack 2.0 full install does not work. something is wrong with the hosting site's webserver.

if anyone has it and is on a fast line contact me via Yahoo and if you can send me it. i'm currently online right now.

thanks!

Great pack. A few gripes though. Most of the icons do not have a 24x24 size, causing distortions in the icons of the start menu (the only place where 24x24 is ever used). Also, I would like the ability to change all the settings you set during installation without having to uninstall and reinstall.

And I upgraded to 2.0, and I'm still not able to get the sidebar to work...

I must say from the photos and testing the 10.5 pack. It's a good start at looking like Vista. I have been testing Vista 5219 (Legally) for the past few weeks. It's ok, a bit slow IMO. Webpages stutter real bad but the overall design concept of the Shell is amazing. There are a few places that need fixing before a final release is given to the public.

For instance the Windows Explorer shell is way more complex then ever. It will prove quite difficult to manage with New End Users in the future. Hopefully the compatibility and usefulness will prove otherwise.

Hope to see this other link fixed soon so that I can switch my XP to the Vista GUI.

THe progress dialog for vista is messed up, the windows flag isnt properly sized or something, it shows up all disorted in the log off dialog and the please wait dialog, i would re-install and just switch to the aero but ive reinstalled the pack about 10 times today i rlly would like an option in the uninstaller to change the settings instead of having to reinstall every time its taken a heavy toll on my HD...

there's no original 24x24 icons from what I've found so it won't be different if I make 24x24 ones myself. My friend is remaking new SideBar with xml engine so this time it should work fine for common machines.

That will make more works on transforming and re-transforming. (more than uninstall and transform again)

I'm impressed but a lil upset. I love the pack none the less but I dont get the Style Design. I'm using the uxtheme patcher so no StyleXP is needed but for instance I love the Vista Beta 1 Aero Glass theme. The color choice isn't to my liking. I want to customize it more "Dark Green" for my personal theme.

I have no intentions of placing any of this online as I understand altering another artist work is a no no for publishing. Just want to make it more to my specifications.

I looked in the themes resource directory and found the shellstyle.dll files. But none consist of any bitmaps for the theme. I used Resource Hacker and found nothing. Where are these themes stored ?!?

The theme files are stored in the .msstyles but your probably better off using something like stylebuilder because to use resource hacker you have to have a piece of software that would allow you to re-color something easly instead of just coloring every pixel with paint. But anyways good luck hope i helped you find what u were looking for.

Your right. I didnt realize it. The file is sneaky like a :ninja: .

I'm going to start recolouring it with Photoshop CS 8.0 so I can give it my own style touch.

Some problems with the theme, on the side menu (or the top menu) that appears when you open up Windows Explorer, the buttons are a bit too close on that. And the arrow that hides the inactive icons, the arrow has white background, transparent almost. The other problem is that the start flag is a bit desintegrated, it looks a little blocky. There's some missing icons, like the extracted folder icons too. Other than that, the pack is pretty nice, and it will surely be perfect once you get to Vista Transformation pack 11.5.

There's no shellstyle resources so you have to remake it yourself. But you can find Aero stuffs from stream*. and change extension to png.

    • You can enable the Nova redesign in Firefox 152, under about:config
    • As long as Manifest v2 extensions keep working. I always enable compact mode from about:config. I hope I won't have to switch to LibreWolf or WaterFox anytime soon.
    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
