Razer Mamba Wireless (and wired) mouse

Recommended Posts

How active are they are they with updating the firmware? I'm reading alot of people having issues with this mouse. Really need a replacement mouse (mine keeps double clicking) so not sure if I should just hold out, or take the risk. Mouse sure isn't cheap lol

You aren't seriously considering a ?120 mouse are you?

You need a slap seriously.

It's the best "mouse" you can get on the market at the moment. Tracking performance is sublime, comfort is amazing.

Ultimately the only letdown is the things I've mentioned (software bugs, lack of extended featurues that are standard on mice that cost a fraction of the Mamba).

Just get a 2nd hand Copperhead or something... jeez ?120 is not worth it.

Unless you want wireless, then just get some Logitech mouse that does the job.

its all about the feel of the product and how well it snuggles into ones hand, got mine this morning and first thing i did after unboxing and plugging it in was update the firmware. Did anyone get an installation CD with thiers, i dont think i got one so i had to get the drivers from thier website.

Anyways im liking it, had the copperhead before and its a huge improvement to that, im loving the nice new snuggly feel it has.

The fact you can make it into a wired mouse and it charges whilst in that mode was the cherry on top for me. Is it worth the ?130 i paid, hell no i dont think any mouse is. Im not happy about paying that much but i did so the past is the past. Doesnt mean i dont like my new purchase, i probably would have been more happier if it was below the ?99 mark, maybe even between the 70-80 quid mark.

Did i forget to mention the feel of it is great!

It is pretty good for games i think playing WoW and it feels great, much better than the copperhead, also had a bash on Crysis earlier and that was pretty sick too.

Overall though not worth ?130, but certainly an awesome mou:D :D

If you want a good quality mouse with a lot of buttons then I would recommend the G9, it is also about a third of the price of this. ;)

mrk, have you actually compared the tracking of the mamba to the G9? (I say G9 as I guess it is the mamba's main competition)

This looks a nice mouse, but bare in mind razer ALWAYS! ALWAYS! Release there mouses with bugs and they always leave it to the public to report the bugs, happend with my razer lachesis, bugs in it for a while with jumping mouse etc but now, its all fine and works perfect with all the updates :)

I am using now the new Logitech keyboard with the illuminated keys and Razer Mamba.

I am on Windows 7 and so far I have high praise for the Mamba. I have no installed their software though. Everything works straight out of the box and the sensitivity settings work great. The precision is astonishing! This is easily the most precise mouse I've ever used.

The ergonomics of the mice are spot on. I love that this mouse feels similar to the old Microsoft IntelliMouse in shape but has the right weight and superb finish. It just feels so smooth in the hand. $129 mouse was a bit much I agree, but I decided to get it because it's amazing in Photoshop and it has something that no other mouse has. The dual functionality. If the battery goes off you just unplug the usb cable and it becomes a wired mouse. This is HUGE for me because none of the mice these days does that. When the battery croaks I'm stuck with using an alternate mouse which sucks. This is what makes it worth for me and even though I was hesitant I really think it's worth every penny. At least so far, considering that I paid $90-$100 for previous Microsoft/Logitech top of the line mice this one is worth $30 premium I can tell you that.

Since original poster photos don't work I 'll update:

Btw the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is FANTASTIC!

This keyboard is super light and thin, very clean design, the illuminated and laser etched keys are a huge plus and look great and the tactile feel is the best one I had from any keyboard I've had in the past decade :)

If you haven't checked it out I strongly encourage you to look at it as it is TOPS product. Sure, $79 for a wired keyboard might be a bit much but the quality is there in every single aspect.
