Block youtube uploads

Im trying to block youtube uploads by schedule using my netgear router, now when i put in upload.youtube.com which is the upload server for youtube it doesn't block it in my wpn824, if i browse to upload.youtube.com it still works but when i go to upload a video on youtube it fails but when i do it again after it starts uploading, does anyone have any idea how to block uploads to youtube or what url / ip i can block?

edit: im doing this because my brother uploads alot of youtube videos and i want to block them at certain times where ping time is critical and browsing web is critical becuase when he uploads to youtube it bogs all the network down even games lag to 999 ping.

try blocking 209.85.227.118, its the ip for the youtube upload server.

guess you could just block the whole site if that doesnt work.

It also links to google homepage, google server ip i guess? if i block that google will also be blocked, right?

If i can't block youtube uploads i might aswell just talk to him to tell him to stop uploading at certain times. i don't know why blocking upload.youtube.com doesn't work i don't think the netgear filter isn't very effective.

hmm didnt know it was the same ip as google, yeah probly best to just talk to him

Ok thanks anyways. The netgear filter in netgear routers hasn't always worked properly for me on some domains anyways.

or you can start by sending him an e-mail .... if he don't collaborate, then you send him a virus :laugh:
