With bloodshot and watery eyes and breath reeking of alcohol, Jeffrey Donovan told police he didn't think he was that impaired when he nearly hit a patrol car in Miami Beach, according to authorities.

"I really think I'm only borderline and not too drunk," the Burn Notice star said to officers, according to a report. He also allegedly said: "The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl and three glasses of wine."

That, and failing a roadside sobriety test, police said.

Donovan, 41, was arrested July 11 after a late-night incident in which his 2009 Audi "quickly swerved in order to avoid striking the rear of the patrol car," his arrest affidavit states.

Donovan, who refused to take a Breathalyzer test, was booked at Miami Beach police headquarters and released several hours later.

His rep declined to comment.

I've bought Seasons 1 + 2 and keeping up with 3 now. I'm hooked. I was let down the Unit was canceled, but this is more than an equal replacement.

Westin and the detective last seaon made for some funny times. Fiona is just too darn hot.

Yeah totally. I am hooked to the show. I watched Season 1 and 2 in just a week or so...

I agree, Fiona is too hot! Westin is funny!

Burn Notice Panel

The Burn Notice panel was a very popular event in Ballroom 20 on Thursday at Comic-Con. Michael Shanks moderated. When he was announced, I wasn?t sure my hearing would survive, but it did.

The panel had Ben Shenkman, Matt Nix, Alfredo Barrios jr., actor Jay Karns, actor Seth Petersen and Bruce Campbell. When Bruce came out, the crowd went berserk and I finally did lose my hearing. Twilighters have nothing on this group.

The panel had a few great videos. One of them had Michael Westen narrating how to not miss any Comic-Con panels. It?s simple really. All you have to do is create a problem that delays one of the other panels to give you enough time to get over to it. Of course Michael Westen?s methods always appeal to me, so I?m not going to describe it. It?s mine, and several hundred others secret now.

We then got a bit of a sneak peek at scenes from this season?s final episodes this year. I have to say, explosions in Ballroom 20 are so much better than in my living room.

Matt Nix jumped right into the fray and talked about Michael?s missing mystery father. He humorously noted that Micheal?s father did not burn him. That was our huge inside scoop. He added a bit about the addition of family to the show, saying that spies don?t always have families and it was a great angle to add to the show.

Pretty much, the panel was about Bruce Campbell, even when he tried to let the other personalities have the chat time.

Someone yelled out they love Bruce. Campbell got up, called them up to the stage and gave them money for saying it. (I?ll presume the denomination of a $20 bill, but I wasn?t close enough to see.)

He was asked what part of Sam?s character are more like or least like Bruce himself.

Most like: He wears those shirts all the time.

Least likely: his wife doesn?t let him sleep with rich Miami women.

Bruce couldn?t help himself and brought up that there?s a new Evil Dead movie, and he?s going to call it Dead Notice. People enjoyed that levity directed towards everyone?s desire to see a new Evil Dead movie.

Matt Nix added, while thinking on this new idea, There?s a reason you want to fight a zombie with a chain saw. LOL, I can hear Michael?s voice on that one.

I?ve never actually caught on to this, but they have little Easter Egg-like nuggets through the show. Has anyone noticed that one of Fiona?s boyfriends name is Campbell? The different restaurants they visit are named after the writers children and other little bits. Now we?ll have to start paying close attention.

Michael Shanks is pretty snarky & witty and as he opened up the floor to attendee questions, he noted how these ?can be so interesting!?

Bruce Campbell was asked how to start being a film maker, considering his origins. he said don?t copy anyone. Do things that people will want to copy from you.

They?re almost done shooting this season and they?re looking for fun things to do with Michael?s brother and I swore I hear them say ?or another brother.?

In case you?re wondering, the naming of Brennan?s Yogurt led to 3 hour argument about what to name it.

Someone asked about a Burn Notice movie and Matt Nix said let?s put it to the people and asked the crowd. the crowd lit up and my ears were done.

Bruce noted that Matt Nix does not use digital explosions. They?ve apparently blown a house off it?s foundation with their explosions. Nice!

Someone asked if they would quit letting Sam get his butt kicked. Bruce then asked the guy to come up, and gave out more money!

How do they come up with the Macgyverisms / voice overs: The show has a former intelligence operative as a consultant, that and the internet.

It was asked if Bruce offered a role in Drag Me To Hell. Bruce said, no and then proceeded to hem and haw and said that Sam will pay for that and have to put him in Spider-Man 4, 5 and 6.

Someone asked Matt nix if he has Bruce help him write the funny lines of the show. Someone else just made $20 more bucks.

Bruce noted out loud, ?How was Comic-Con Bruce?? He answered himself: ?Expensive!?

A guy dressed up as a jester ran up to the mic and Shanks said ?Oh, we gotta hear this one.? But the Jester was overtaken with another instructional video from Micheal Westen on surviving Comic-Con.

This was a fun panel between Shanks, Campbell and the videos - fun and interactive panel.

USA's two highly successful Thursday night shows, Burn Notice and Royal Pains, have just been given the green light for new seasons by the basic cable channel, says The Hollywood Reporter. • Millions of users to benefit from Windows 11's new performance boost on Adobe Photoshop by Sayan Sen Despite the advent of AI-generated imagery, Adobe's Photoshop remains one of the most popular tools on this planet. Adobe does not have a publicly reported total user count but it's probably not wrong to assume there are millions. As of 2025, Adobe Creative Cloud has had approximately 41 million paid subscribers, many of whom likely use Photoshop. In addition, more than 166,000 companies worldwide are apparently also using the app. These figures are according to a very recent report by SQ Magazine. Out of them, it is fair to assume that many are probably running Windows. As such, there is good news for these users as Microsoft has announced Photoshop is getting a big 20% performance boost on x86-64 (AMD64) systems and a 13% bump-up on Arm devices. This is definitely great news for them as many have complained about the slow performance and general sluggishness of Photoshop on Windows 11 ever since the advent of the latter back in 2021. If you are wondering how Microsoft managed to do this, the answer lies in a combination of compiler-level optimizations and a technology called Sample Profile Guided Optimization (SPGO). According to Microsoft, Adobe worked closely with the company’s Visual C++ team and adopted the latest MSVC toolchain enhancements together with SPGO to squeeze more performance out of Photoshop’s CPU-bound workloads. Unlike traditional Profile Guided Optimization (PGO), which requires developers to create special instrumented builds and run lengthy training workloads, SPGO gathers performance data directly from optimized release binaries. This means Adobe could collect real-world usage information which gives a major advantage to this technique, as companies could leverage data collected from actual customer workloads rather than only relying on synthetic benchmark runs. In theory, this should allow optimizations to better reflect how users interact with software in the real world. Thanks to this, there are improvements to code layout, function inlining, hot-and-cold code separation, and other low-level tweaks that help processors execute instructions more efficiently. Essentially the compiler is better able to identify “hot” code paths, those which are most frequently executed, and optimize them accordingly.
    • "The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months¨ I'd prefer to see the lowest price in over a year
    • Glad these prices are starting to come down, but that is still crazy. I bought the 2TB 9100 Pro (slightly more expensive version with PCIe 5.0) last year for $240.
    • The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months by Sayan Sen Yesterday, we covered a really good deal wherein you can get a 4TB TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD for a low price of just $400 with a special discount coupon. That's just $100 per TB, making it a very good offer during these hard times. The deal is still live, so you can check it out in its dedicated article here if you do not want to miss out. Meanwhile, if you don't have that kind of budget but still wish to buy an SSD for a good price, the 2TB variant of the TeamGroup SSD at $280 its lowest price in over three months. Meanwhile, those seeking 2TB but faster performance can check out Samsung's 990 PRO, which has hit the lowest price also in the last quarter or so, as it's on sale for $370 (purchase links under the specs table down below). Thus, you want a faster drive, get the 990 Pro, or you want more capacity, grab the TeamGroup 4TB linked in the first para. The 990 PRO is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and still one of the fastest drives available today for under $500. Speaking of fast, sequential reads and writes are rated at 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s, respectively. The random throughputs for reads and writes are 1400K IOPS and 1550K IOPS, respectively. The 990 PRO is based on Samsung's 7th Gen V-NAND flash, and it too is TLC. It packs 2 gigs of LPDDR4 DRAM cache, which helps the random performance. The endurance rating for this is 1200 TBW (terabytes written), which should be sufficient for most users. The Samsung 990 PRO is compatible with the PlayStation 5, but if you are going to use the 990 PRO on a PC, check out the Samsung Magician app that lets you track your drive's health, update its firmware, customize various settings, and more.
