0 jakem1
Can't your friend just resend the image in a standard format? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/768010-converting-mac-image-files-to-windows-format/#findComment-590947596 Share on other sites
0 gazebee_
Not sure, but try renaming it and removing ".hqx" Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/768010-converting-mac-image-files-to-windows-format/#findComment-590947598 Share on other sites

0 Tai
I've tried renaming the file, with no luck, and winzip doesn't seem to work on it either. Any other ideas anyone ? Is there any cross platform image converter that could do this ? 0 The_Decryptor Veteran Posted May 5, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 5, 2009 BinHex, what on earth? If your friend using System 7 or something? BinHex hasn't been needed for the last 9 years. I don't even know how he'd make a binhex file, the default method for compression is ZIP or something. Yeah, just get him to send the original file. 0 the evn show
HQX is a compressed file format like Zip, RAR, Tgz, etc. It is not an image file format. What you need is a program to extra extra the JPEG image(s) inside of the HQX container. WinZIP should do the job but it's tossing up an error because the file is corrupted.
