vip
How is it on windows? I don't want fanboyism ... I have windows and a Mac. Does it compare to speeds of Chrome or Firefox on windows? ViperAFK
Windows: Thank god they removed those tabs in the titlebar. It worked in chrome but the way safari did it was AWFUL. torrentthief
they stopped forcing quicktime into the installer, yay:) you can now choose the installer that includes quicktime or the 1 without:) wonder if they have a native 64bit build version to download for windows too? ViperAFK
Th fonts in the tab bar are really ugly for me (they are fine elsewhere) as seen in my ss this happen to anyone else? Ambroos
Looks an awful lot like Chrome now to me. Did the ditch the typical font-rendering? Tab text looks ugly. Windows 7 superbar integration! Still don't like it. update: font rendering appears to be a setting? Guest MGS3_GrayFox
Well, this thing is fast as hell (I'm using it on Windows XP). I'm glad they changed the positions of the tab bar, but damn, this thing is fast! Finally I'll stop using Firefox and switch over to Safari, it has everything I need. ViperAFK
No the fonts are fine everywhere but the tabs, changing the settings just makes them all extremely blurry and unreadable on any setting but windows standard for me. Hell-In-A-Handbasket
does teh beta have to be uninstalled first ( OSX ), and is their an option to put the tabs back on top Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/782060-safari-4-available-to-download/#findComment-591107598 Share on other sites
ViperAFK
a 64 bit browser is pointless until we get native 64 bit flash plugins ect... Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/782060-safari-4-available-to-download/#findComment-591107600 Share on other sites

Ambroos
What they said about Javascript is incorrect though. I've ran sunspider on both Chrome (latest beta) and Safari (4) and Chrome is actually just a little faster. Difference is insignificant, but still... I wonder where they got their numbers! * Result for V8 is that Chrome is significantly faster. That left aside, I really like the font rendering on Standard for LCD stuff and I'm gonna give Safari a try for now. If there was a way to disable taskbar thumbnails in 7... Dane
Is there an ad blocker for the windows version? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/782060-safari-4-available-to-download/#findComment-591107614 Share on other sites
ViperAFK
AFAIK There is some usercss ones. They kinda suck though they don't actually block the downloading of ads like adblock they just hide them. torrentthief
a 64 bit browser is pointless until we get native 64 bit flash plugins ect... alot of sites dont use flash, also it would hurry up adobe into making a 64bit version as they dont have much incentive at the moment as there is no 64bit official firefox, chrome, opera or safari. they should allow power users to download a 64bit build, would be faster.
