love the helpful reply, you've probably never used a mac long term and realised how "uncluttered" it actually is.

a few years ago i used avedesk, which gave results similar to what you need, but that was when i was on xp. i'm not really up to speed on how it's developed further...

edit: avedesk with Automounter may do the job. can't try it myself as i'm on my macbook.

Nice, being a longtime Mac user myself who then went to being a both OS user, this is one thing I could def see myself using as well. Nice to learn about this little apps.

I am currently using Object Dock and Fences, in combo with putting my most frequently used apps under normal old Quick Launch, and just loving it all. This might add that final touch for perfection.

Thing is though since I use my PC almost strictly for gaming, I just hate having that many apps run at start up, so that is my only thing I am weary of. So far though my Core i7 build seems to be handle multiple things with ease, so not sure it really matters all that much anymore.
