Timed Shutdown cmd?

Is there a way to tell Vista to shutdown or hibernate at the end of a given time interva? I'm sure there used to be a command in XP that I used some years back but I can't remember seeing anything since that wasn't related to a 3rd party program.

Um, you could adjust the power options if you want it to hibernate/sleep after a certain amount of time passes.

Start > Run > "shutdown -i" (minus the quotes and hit [Enter])

How do I add a time frame to that command. So say I want my computer to shutdown in 3 hours time?

I think the power settings just make the computer shutdown after idle time.

Very basic but does the job.

shutdown /s /t xxx

xxx = amount of seconds.

/s can be replaced by /r for reboot and /h for hibernate.

Three hours would be: 60 x 60 x 3 = 10800

so you get

shutdown /s /t 10800

to cancel any running shutdown timers just do shutdown /a
