Google Virus

Hey guys:

So this is weird. Whenever I search on Google and click on the result, I am redirected to a suspicious website. I tried to look around and people call this the "google redirect virus" I guess.

I have been looking for a solution but I guess I wouldn't understand the log after I run hijackthis.

Has anyone had a similar problem before? Do you guys have any solution for me?

Time to run some anti-virus/spyware/malware scans.

Check your hosts file and see if there is a google entry sending you to that site.

However, this problem occurs only sometimes. I haven't noticed a trend in which they occur. Sometimes I'll click a link and it'll redirect me to some other website.

This is PC at work, and they already have this antivirus thing installed but it never caught anything.

you have spyware, probably hard to detect spyware.

i'd try system restore if that still works :p

You better contact your computer administrator or boss at work. What are the name of the site's that it redirects you?

i had a redirect issue, needed to run combofix, malwarbytes, and avira (did avira first). my redirect issue went away.

avira -boot scan first

avira -normal scan second

combofix

malwarebytes - keep running it until it doesn't pickup anything
