You guys are off the track!

1. I know what a server is.

2. I was wondering if server 2003 could be more efficient than XP...

3. Donnu what i should put here...

IP... Your right, I'm not going to buy... what does it change to your life??? I can do whatever i want, you think at 15 years old i can get whatever i need... If i could buy it, i would...

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes people just like to rant a bit because they enjoy it, but don't let it put you off. I myself run Server 2003, not to run as a server - because I have no real need to be a server, but just to play with and experiment with.

I personally don't rate Server 2003 as being any better for gaming than XP, nor as being able to run applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver any better. In fact, running a firewall such as Zone Alarm can prove rather tricky, so be warned, some of your applications may not function correctly.

But by all means tryout Server 2003, it's not hard to setup, and you may learn something from it :)

Ok, thx guys :p

I guess I'll wait for longhorn... :p

Cheers.

Why waste money on Longhorn when you have XP? It is the same darn thing, only prettier and a far more memory hog it will be. If you think XP sucks on your memory, wait until LongHorn comes out. You'll wish to sticked with XP.

I have seen Longhorn screenies and I am not impressed. It seems Microsoft wants to keep bloating Windows with more useless crap everytime they release a new version. More crap, more bugs. Why not just concentrate on improving XP instead of making things worst by making another version?

I'll be honest with you people, I like Windows 2000 better. The only reason I use XP is because of the flexibility and compatibility with hardware and software, especially DVD stuff. But I find that Windows 2000 runs better, it's more stable and Internet Explorer 5 runs way faster and loads pages faster than Internet Explorer 6. That's just my opinion.
