I keep getting an error message that internet explorer needs to close, faulting module mshtml.dll on certain web sites. Anybody know what could be causing this and how to fix it? :cry: I have all the windows updates. :wacko:

Make shure you have installed the latest service pack for explorer

Use a better browser ;)

Try starting IE without the iexplore.exe file (I frogot how, but it is possable) :p

Look in my thread about making your windows folder smaller, it may have been deleted when MS got neowin shut down, but I think I posted about it before when I had removed IE from XP :p

possibly get a different version of mshtml.dll? it might have gotten corrupted; i've never had any crashes with this file at fault.... pm me if you want it.

thanks, i tried replacing it with the one in the service pack files but it still crashes.

I get the same error messages except in my case it did it with any web browser I had installed, e.g. Mozilla, IE, Netscape 7, Opera 7. I couldn't fix the problem either.

I did a fresh install of WinXP without the service pack and it works fine now.

Do Not Install pre-beta, beta service packs

if you do then ur bound for problems.. Installing a pre-beta, beta service pack is like letting bugs in ur computer
