I cant install it either, can you please post a non exe version. I get alot of errors. Im running one of the first StyleXP dll's the ones where there was no GUI just the dll (the good ol days). But as i said I get crazy errors with your installer.

Please post a non-exe version thxz.

What errors are you getting? Is it when you are installing the theme (ie from the exe) .. If so the archive may be corrupt, try downloading it again ...

If its when you try and apply the theme, I believe there is a problem with the earlier versions of the StyleXP DLL, especially if you are now using SP1 as the two versions are not compatible. Have a look round for uxtheme patcher shouldnt be hard to google it, or even find on Neowin somewhere :)

Hope that helps ...

Ya the errors are when it tries to apply the theme. But this is the first time this has ever ahppend. Im not upgrading style XP becuase theres no point.

All i need is the .msstyle files.

I dont see what we need to add aregistry entry for a theme? I have over 200 themes on my drive, could you imagine what would ahappen if everone did this?

If all you need is the .msstyle file, then you need to get it from your themes directory, they are all there, or alternatively just extract it from install exe as all it is is basically an self extracting archive (as such) ... As mentioned there is a problem with the original dll that stylexp had, you need to update it unfortunately :(

Biko,

Can you not install the latest patched uxtheme, as all the issues you are having are attributed to the fact that you are using the original uxtheme hack from tgsoft. If you use the current version you will find everything is fine again :)

FYI the current version is 6.0.2800.1106 (at least it is on XP, not sure on 2k3)

I take that back, that patch hooped my system over. I had to do a system restore. I am using one of the very first StyleXP versions, the one I have is simply a dll with no program interface, it takes up no memory and it works with every theme I have ever used, until this theme. Im not about to upgrade to the new bloated Style XP that hogs memory and contantly runs some dumb user interface that I dont need. Yous should all be running this really old version, no point in running bloated software.

Just go HERE and follow the instructions ... Don't know why you are having so many problems changing the dll, but if the Automatic one doesn't work for you, follow the Manual Patch instructions on that website you will have no hassles anymore with this theme (or any others in the future)

As a side note, I don't know of anyone to get the multi-patch thing to work with SP1 so I direct friends etc to that website, they dont have a problem from then on, and I get 100% less hassle from them asking me to do it for them.
