Who can tell which country the female soldiers are from?

With the red star on their hat, I'd have to say Russian.

and the one on the 3rd from the left's left chest looks like this:

EDIT: Links to what? Women in uniform? or what? How about a link to where you found it originally, it might help us help you. ;)

I like the second one from the left.

She looks cold, I'm sure many of us could find a way to warm her up. :shifty:

Can you see that red star clearly, CrashGordon?

I've enlarged that hat badge and it was ambiguous.

And, of course I guessed it as Russian in the first place, but the guy who showed me the pic said no.

Possibly it was from one of the former Soviet states

But which country? I need a sure answer.

Attached: a pic of today's russia female soldiers:

(Apparently different from the pic above)

Hehe, it is just a game now being played in our party, and I want to win, so I ask you guys :)

Well my eyesight is pretty damn good and I had the wife check it out too (before I said what I thought it was) and she was pretty sure it was the Russian Star and although it's hard to make out details on the hat I can see the gold edge around the red star (even in that crappy low res photo).

How old is the original photo? That could make a HUGE difference on what uniforms they wore and are wearing now. Was it before or after the collapse of the Soviet Union and Communism.

EDIT: I see that it's some game you're playing. I still stand by my original answer. When you get the "real" answer please post it here. :) Because if it's not the USSR then I'd really like to know, it may come in handy playing Jeopardy one day.

EDIT 2: It looks a lot like this http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...sa%3DN%26um%3D1

EDIT 3: just noticed something in the second photo, why do they have different length dresses/skirts? Being military you'd think they'd all be a standard length. Not that I'm complaining, just noticing. :shiftyninja:

The belt I admit looks East German, however the tunic definitely is not... I'm thinking now this may be just worn for historical purposes... If that's the case, looking through archives of uniforms would be a pain.

Edit: I am pretty sure it's early soviet... Look up the M43 uniforms (there are variants). Some pics show the same head dresses for the full-kitted examples. The only thing is the buttons are done up the opposite side (maybe this is a female thing)? They are definitely older uniforms for sure, close to post-WW2.

It's russian

Also does anyone else thing that the picture background has been edited.

The star i posted ealier looks closer, but yeah it's gotta be Russian.

And yeah something looks a little off about the background in the original pic. Propaganda pic?

Not sure I did have a look at some German badges and found this. ironcross1stclass.jpg they also come in red as well.

Iron Crosses never come in red. They'r always black :)

Those uniforms look like they are from ww2..or might be post ww2. They are indeed soviet...and all soviet republics had the same uniforms.

Russian Ground Forces, best years of my life spent in that service. Some of better dates were met in the Ground Forces too. As confirmed it is a Soviet uniform, I remember my uncle wearing them when I was a boy.

No offense. Could you type the same message with Russian down here, so that we will be assured that you've told the truth?

And, of course I guessed it as Russian in the first place, but the guy who showed me the pic said no.

Could it just be your friend being pedantic? Guess 'Soviet Union' as opposed to 'Russian' maybe? (even though they were essentially one and the same)

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
