I beg to differ. If it's not part of the main plot, it is filler, regardless of if it rocked or sucked.

How do you know its not part of the main plot? How do you know walters fathers books wont be needed in the next ep ? How do you know that this other dimmension stuff wasnt helped along by the nazi's? How did this nazi guy live that long? Was he from the other dimmension where the nazis are still around?

there is nothing to say this wasnt part of the story line.

PS this episode linked to one of the fringe comics . So would that still make it filler?

How do you know its not part of the main plot?

The events were in no way related to the pattern.

How do you know walters fathers books wont be needed in the next ep ?

It may or may not be, but from what we learned, Walter's father and his research were involved with the Germans and nothing else. That's not to say that there weren't other things his father did outside of being a German scientist, but we have to go with what we know.

How do you know that this other dimmension stuff wasnt helped along by the nazi's?

How do you figure that it was? Nothing indicated such, but the impossibilities are endless.

How did this nazi guy live that long?

A self contained mystery brought about by this singular episode. Ie: not part of the main plot.

Was he from the other dimmension where the nazis are still around?

Do we know that Nazi's are still around in the other dimension? It's obvious that the guy survived over 60 years without aging, which lends to the theory that he conducted his own fringe science that made him that way. He could be from the other dimension, but there's more evidence at this time that suggests otherwise.

there is nothing to say this wasnt part of the story line.

There's plenty to say it's not part of the main plot. It was a good filler episode that gave us more background into the Bishops.

The ruling on the field stands: *cues Michael Jackson music* Filler! Filler night!

Dianna Kruger Guest Stars! (TV Overmind)

In case you didn't know, Fringe star Joshua Jackson (Peter Bishop) is dating Diane Kruger. Don't know Diane Kruger? She's a fairly A-list actress who has appeared in films such as Troy, National Treasure, and, most recently, Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. The German-born actress isn't ending her credits there, though. She's also going to be adding a guest appearance on Fringe to her filmography.

Her relationship with Jackson probably secured her the role, but she won't be around long on the show. She looks like she'll instead be one of the victims of some super-bubonic-plague-like affliction that causes her arm and next to develop boil-like, scaly cysts. It also looks like the affliction will be hitting Kruger's character while she's going for a drive (pictured right). It's not pretty, but it's totally Fringe-y.

Behind the scenes photos also show Kruger on set spending time with Jackson.

Due to the point in filming the series is at, Kruger's appearance will probably be late in the season, presumably after the April 1 episode "Peter," and before the season finale.

Dinae Krguer would be a good addition.

The last episode whether or not it was a filler was pretty good. It kept me going for the whole 40 minutes plus the ratings are seeing an upswing in the new year. Hopefully they will continue enough to be renewed again!

I figured something out.

Spoilers, only slightly,

When hes opening the combination lock at the base, he says the combination, 5 - 20 - 10.

At the end they said it returns on April 1 with 8 new episodes. So, 8 weeks with a new episode, well, the 8th new episode will be airing on May 20, 2010, ... 5 - 20 10 !!!!
