Smallville alum Kristin Kreuk is currently in late negotiations to guest star on Fringe, a source close to the production has told CinemaSpy. The episode, entitled "Northwest Passage", begins shooting next week, and takes place in the, not surprisingly, Pacific Northwest. CinemaSpy has been informed that the deal to sign Kreuk hadn't been locked as of two days ago, but that it's likely. A decision is expected this week.

If Kreuk is cast, no word yet on what part she will play, though we've been told there are at least two roles available in the story, including that of a law enforcement officer.

Kreuk has most recently appeared in a four-episode arc of NBC's Chuck, playing a sweet nerd named Hannah, a new employee at the Buy More.

In related Fringe news, CinemaSpy has learned that Leonard Nimoy will return for either episode 21 or 22 to participate in the season finale storyline (as expected), reprising his role as William Bell; the producers are hoping to shoot some material in New York; and that according to the script, the finale will feature ? car buffs take note ? a BMW 12 Series. This last bit is significant because the automaker doesn't manufacture a 12 Series and thus the car is presumably from the alternate universe established in the show's mythology.

Fringe returns to television April 1, with eight new episodes in a row. The season finale is set to air on May 20.

Production on the series, which films in Vancouver, is on hiatus this week due to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Kristen spoke about how excited she is to film the new Josh Schwartz comedy, Hitched, and put to rest the rumours that she will be on Fringe this season (she will NOT be appearing).

Good. I cant stand her acting, all she ever did in Smallville was f**king cry :hmmm:

So I've been catching up on Season 2 [as I missed most of it] and I'm currently on episode 11--the one with the girl and the Russian guy with the launch codes.

Now... I'm about 1/4 way into the episode, and I'm incredibly confused. It's no spoiler anymore that

Charlie died early on, and was 'replaced' by one of the shapeshifters

[though I'll black it out anyway], but Olivia took care of that in episode... 4 or 5, I don't remember.

They showed her shooting Doppelganger Charlie in the head.

Now... They called in Teresa Rusk, and in the office is... Charlie? What is going on? Everyone wasn't even giving him a second glance, as if nothing had happened.

J.J. Abrams says the second season finale will be just as "impactful" as the first-season finale was, but richer, deeper and better as well. And it may wrap up some storylines, but he's not saying exactly. Also, the upcoming April Fools episode is "retro and weird," and may spoof old science fiction shows as well as showing our heroes using retro technology. [Sci Fi Wire]

that was an unaired season 1 episode

That's pretty moronic. Not only did it confuse people, but it had this incredibly idiotic supernatural thing going. Sure, Fringe is pretty "fringe" and borders on supernatural nonsense, but this episode was simply over the line. More at-least-something-that-resembles-science, less stupid crap.

Fringe given a 3rd Season!

Sci-fi fans who may be concerned about the state of the genre on network TV (we?re looking at you, V and FlashForward) have at least one reason to rejoice: EW has learned exclusively that Fox has picked up Fringe for a third season. Though the show isn?t exactly blowing the roof off of Nielsen ? it?s been averaging just 7.6 million viewers and is ranked No. 50 in the all-important adults 18-49 demographic this season ? it managed to survive in a tough new time period on Thursdays. The show returns with new episodes ? and the promise of more visits from Leonard Nimoy and to the parallel universe ? on April 1.

    • Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat are free to claim on the Epic Games Store by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe PC gamers have two more games they can add to their library without needing to open their wallets, as the Epic Games Store's freebie offer has just refreshed. That means last week's Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks and The Ouroboros King offer has been replaced by two new games, which happen to be Robobeat and Citizen Sleeper copies. From the duo, Robobeat lands from developer Simon Fredholm, offering a rhythm-based action game. Released only last year, the title puts you into the shoes of Ace, a bounty hunter that's targeting the robot showman Frazzer. The fast-paced title offers movement techniques like wall-running, sliding, and bunny hopping to zoom around while shooting enemies, but the requirement is doing everything to the beat. Outside of built-in tracks, the title also lets players upload their own music to populate its levels too. Next, Citizen Sleeper lands from Jump Over The Age, a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station where thousands of people are trying to survive. The tabletop RPG-inspired title uses things like dice and clocks to change how the player approaches situations and survives their day-to-day lives. There is a large range of characters to meet with in the station, each with their own storylines and alliances. "You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back," says the developer about the setting. "Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle." The Citizen Sleeper and Robobeat giveaways are set to run until June 25 on the Epic Games Store, giving PC gamers seven days to claim the latest offer. Once this closes out, new freebies will take its place on the same day. They are supposed to be copies of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Voidwrought. Don't forget that mobile gamers can check out the Epic Game Store's weekly giveaways on Android and iOS to grab a freebie there as well.

    • The Online part hasn't even been announced and probably won't be included on day one. This is a massive singleplayer game.
    • While I agree with all that, it just proves there's an a** built for every seat.
