We'll see Peter's mom again in the two-part season finale, aka "Over There" parts one and two. [EW]

Apparently the musical episode is now called "Brown Betty," and here's the official description from Fox:

While Walter (John Noble) deals with some upsetting news, he tells Olivia's niece, Ella (guest star Lily Pilblad), a fairy tale that includes musical performances by Olivia (Anna Torv) and Agent Broyles (Lance Reddick).

And here are a couple of natty-looking stills from the episode. [spoilerTV]

On April 29, Fox?s just-renewed Fringe will take a page from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Scrubs by staging a musical inside inside the mind of mad scientist Walter.

?We didn?t set out to do a musical,? maintains executive producer Jeff Pinkner. ?We set out to do an episode that explored Walter?s state of mind ? he?s dealing with some very upsetting news. When we realized that the way Walter would deal with such news would be to try to anesthetize himself with copious amounts of marijuana, well, singing and dancing became a natural outcome.?

Anna Torv?s Olivia ? who adopts a retro private-eye persona (see above) ? plays a central role in Walter?s drug-induced fairy tale. Teases Pinkner: ?It?ll be interesting to see how Walter really perceives her.?

<br />Every episode is good <img src='https://cdn.neowin.com/forum/uploads/style_emoticons/default/thumbs_up.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(Y)' /><br />

I guess you are right in a way. All episodes of Fringe are entertaining. But, obviously the ones directly related to the mythology are more so.

yeah but then the season would last just 6 odd episodes which would be pointless, filler episodes as they are called are good and 9 times out of 10 entertaining for this series.

    • No. The file manager is a lost cause. After all, its dev receives all the undeserved praise he could evre wish from Neowin, without having actually earned it. This has never lead to improvements.

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
