It was a nice episode. Did anyone notice the licence plate of Dunham SUV when they went to the bridge towards the end of the episode?

Found a pic :)

great episode!

In the Fringe episode "The Man From The Other Side", when the shape shifters arrived in our universe, the event interrupted the TV signals of several dozen homes within a half-mile radius of the warehouse. The odd interference contained broadcast signals from the alternate universe.

Two of the images displayed appear to be from a future (or alternate) episode of LOST, you can clearly see Claire Littleton and Greg Grunburg, the pilot of Oceanic 815. They appear to be in Australia, based on the Kangaroo mural on the wall.

The other two images show some of the differences between our universe and the Walternate universe.

An image of the alternate White House shows a new glass roof. If you recall from the season 1 finale over there the White House was destroyed on 9/11 - not the World Trade Center. The last image is of the American flag, but you'll notice right away that the stars are in a different configuration. There appear to only be 48 states represented. This could mean that they never added Alaska and Hawaii, or that two state have seceded... Alaska and Texas?

and of course...

I've just finished watching season 1 (decided to take a gamble and pick up the blu-ray). Freakin' awesome series - I managed to keep totally spoiler free, so knew nothing about the whole "William Bell" reveal until a few eps from the end, when you hear THAT voice, on the tape. I twigged the whole Walter grabbing Peter from an alternate reality.

I gotta question though (Like with the last thread, I've skipped to the end, to avoid spoilers) - Is it true the Series 2 blu-ray set isn't being released until the end of September? It's not as if I haven't got anything else to watch - I've had the complete BSG blu-ray sitting on a shelf since October (like Fringe, a "blind purchase"), and I'm picking up The Wire soon, but I'd really like to carry on with Fringe, and well September seems like a long way away

Shows being released to DVD/Blu-Ray at that time is typical. It's when seasons are starting so to continue the drive, they're usually released at that time. Not all shows follow this, but most do.

Glad we have another Fringe fan (Y)

To be honest, I thought the second season had already finished, which is why I thought it was strange they were holding out until September to release the boxset. A quick (to avoid spoilers) look over on Wikipedia seems to suggest the series doesn't finish until May, so I guess the Septemer release makes sense.

I'll just have to start on that BSG boxset (though that's just as strange - they show the alcoholic guy wearing an eye patch, yet he hasn't got one in the eps I'm upto - Strange indeedy), and hopefully by the time that's finished, the Fringe boxset'll be out :)

Oh you have fantastic blind taste. The Wire is unbelievably good television. I didn't like BSG's ending as well as S2, but it was also pretty good stuff.

I wish - basically by the time I cottoned on to BSG it was coming towards the end, and The Wire had long since finished. Basically I just ask my friends - two in particular - a Scottish woman who knows more than I'll ever know, even if I lived to 50,000 years old and an American Law Student, if they think I'll like something, and usually, they're bang on. They both recommended BSG, which is why I picked it up. The Wire - I watched a few episodes when they broadcast it (finally) on BBC 2 a while ago, but I tried watching 'em at 6am, whilst on an exercise bike, so they weren't really appropriate (Glee is perfect for watching whilst on a static bike). Basically I got a tonne of money back from my energy supplier, and decided to pick it up - I love crime novels - James Ellroy, Michael Connelly, Raymond Chandler, etc, so it seemed like a good fit.

Anyways, I know I'm de-railing the Fringe thread so I'll leave it there - Assuming the S2 boxset is indeed released over here in September, I'll be back in October ;)

Here are the official descriptions for "Over There" parts 1 and 2 (Season Finale!) :

In part one of the two-part, two-night second season finale, Walter and Olivia travel to the parallel universe, and the anticipated face-off between Walter Bishop and William Bell occurs when special guest star Leonard Nimoy returns.

Sacrifices will be made and both universes may never be the same again after Walter and Olivia visit the "other side" in Part 2 of the climactic season finale.

Didn't have nearly as much singing as I thought there would be. Was a fun episode, but the only part I didn't like was that they used a CG Leonard Nemoy. Irks me a lot that such a high profile actor is selected for a prominent role, only to actually appear so little. I know the guy has things that he does, but c'mon, that was all of 20 seconds worth of stuff, did they really have to make a CG version? Was he really too busy that he couldn't get in front of a camera? He did the voice work, at least I think he did. Bah humbug. /crying

Now we can get down to business for the next three weeks. Huzzah!
