Yup, it's official. Resident Evil: Afterlife goes before the cameras in Toronto in September, and will be released a year later. Milla Jovovich is back, and Paul WS Anderson has again written the script. No word yet on a director.

The story takes place in Tokyo and Alaska, with Toronto standing in for Alaska. It's the second film Anderson has written this year: he also recently handed in a draft of his Miami-set remake of The Long Good Friday.

Afterlife gives us the prospect of a clone army of Jovoviches, following Extinction's cliffhanger. Woo, and indeed, hoo.

Ridiculous, why bring that tosser Paul Anderson back he completely screwed over the first 3 films which is why they tanked, why bring him back AGAIN?

If they had followed the books by S. D. Perry they would have been amazing films i REALLY recommend people who love resident evil read the books by Perry they are amazing.

Ah so many gamers hate this :D Glad my love for zombies overrules my love for games :D

same, I Resident Evil is the only game to movie I like...with maybe the exception of Silent Hill but both aren't based on the games in theory :p

You see, the movies didn't tank actually. In fact, they all made quite a nice tidy profit. This is what happens when you make a movie and the budget isn't $250M.

Nubs :p

It doesn't even have half the stuff which makes RE great. It's blasphemy the movies even get away with using the name in the titles.
