I think they mean they're going to leave some of the questions up to the audience to answer. They've said this for a while now, that not everything will be answered by the end of the show.

That kind of sucks. Although I do understand the Midi-chlorian comment below your post... :)

Final season premiere of ABC's "Lost" at Waikiki's Sunset on the Beach likely

HAWAII Magazine reader and Lost fanatic Laurie Jolosky wrote us about the final season premiere of the filmed-in-Hawaii adventure-drama series:

I’ve been looking for any information on the Waikiki Sunset on the Beach premiere of Lost later this month. I'm a little disappointed that there isn't more fanfare, even on the Sunset on the Beach Web site.

Will more information come out within the next couple weeks?

You ask. We answer.

Rumors have been rife on Lost fan Web sites over the last couple of months that a screening of the the ABC-TV series' sixth season premiere at Sunset on the Beach is a lock. No official announcement has been made, but prospects are looking good.

The Waikiki Improvement Association is currently negotiating with ABC for the rights to air the premiere episode of the show’s sixth and final season on a 30-foot screen on the sands of Waikiki’s Queen’s Surf Beach. A date for the screening hasn’t been officially confirmed, but an Association representative hints that if the talks go through the screening will happen sometime at the end of January. The rumored date is Sat., Jan. 30.

A revised Sunset on the Beach schedule should be posted on the WIA's Web site in the next few days, or you can call (808) 923-1094 for more information.

The last Lost beachside screening at Sunset on the Beach was in 2006, for the show’s third season premiere. The Hollywood writers’ strike of 2007 canceled plans for a season four premiere screening on the sands of Waikiki. No event was held for the season five premiere.

Fortunately, no love seems to have been lost for beachside Lost season premieres in the interim. During a series of Lost panel discussions at last October’s Honolulu International Film Festival, Lost co-executive producer Jean Higgins and Honolulu Film Office commissioner Walea Constantinau said that they had discussed bringing back the event. And readers on our HAWAII Magazine Facebook fan page have been feverishly inquiring about the chances of a Sunset on the Beach Lost sixth season premiere since the fifth season finale last May.

Lost’s final season is set to premiere on ABC, Tuesday, February 2nd at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST and 8 p.m., Hawaii time.

One thing about that "what is the island" question that bugs me is that during the writer's strike, Lindelof held up a sign that specifically said (verbatim), "Don't you want to know what the island is?" With that in mind, I feel cheated :(

Very good point, forgot about that. Feel that one question should be answered, but its confirmed, it's confirmed.. I reckon there will be a fair few questions not answered, just the main ones will be. I think he said there's so many answers in the Sixth Season, that it combines with Seasons 1-5 answers... Don't know about that. Something like the Hurley bird or how the Others knew the Losties were making a boat and knew when they set sail won't be answered.

With the amount of spoilers that were posted I figured you guys had everything worked out already. :p

To be honest, filming has been top secret this season, I would say this season has had the least number of spoilers before airing. From the spoilers, we kinda know what happens this season, but very vaguely. It's mainly been tip bits from episodes here and there coming up. And of course, no new footage will be released till it's aired...

Lost viewers won't get answers about the nature of the island! Source

that sucks.

One of the most intriguing questions raised by Lost is "Guys, where are we?". The island has always been a key character in LOST and they should get ready for a backlash if they dont deal with the issue properly.

Mathachew that was awesome! Thanks for sharing

    • SpaceX reportedly plans a Starlink mobile service for U.S. consumers by Karthik Mudaliar SpaceX reportedly wants to sell mobile phone plans directly to consumers in the United States as part of a wider expansion of Starlink. According to a report from the Financial Times, SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell discussed the plan with investors during the company’s recent IPO roadshow. The company is also said to be considering building a terrestrial mobile network to complement Starlink’s satellite coverage. The plan is quite different from how Starlink currently operates in the U.S. mobile market. SpaceX already provides satellite connectivity for T-Mobile’s T-Satellite service, but T-Mobile remains responsible for the subscription, billing, and customer support. A Starlink-branded mobile service would give SpaceX control of the customer relationship instead. It could also turn the company from a partner of traditional mobile operators into a direct competitor. T-Mobile also began testing its Starlink-powered satellite service in early 2025. The beta was initially limited to text messaging and was also available to some AT&T and Verizon customers. The service has since expanded to support limited data access through selected apps, including WhatsApp, Google Maps, AccuWeather, and AllTrails. It is designed to provide a connection in areas where normal cell towers are unavailable, rather than replace a conventional mobile network. However, if SpaceX actually has a plan to serve nationwide, it needs to do more than just satellite networks and actually support on-ground operations. It can also partner up with existing carriers and become a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). With that said, SpaceX has already spent heavily to support its mobile ambitions. Just last year, the company agreed to acquire wireless spectrum licences from EchoStar in deals worth a combined $19.6 billion. EchoStar's spectrum includes AWS-4, H-Block, and AWS-3 frequencies that could be used for both satellite and terrestrial communications. According to a SpaceX securities filing, the Federal Communications Commission approved the transaction in May 2026, although it is not expected to close until late 2027. There's no official statement by SpaceX for now. Pricing, availability, and other details remain unknown. Source: Financial Times
