James Cameron's Avatar in 3D

I'm not sure why, because I really want to love this film, but the more I see of it the less interested I am. I love thoughtful sci-fi (Moon and District 9 were both amazing) and I love balls-to-the-wall action epics (2012 looks like a bag of stupid, but a damn thrilling bag of stupid) so I can't figure out why I just don't "get it".

I can just hope that the best parts are still the parts we haven't seen and the 3d, instead of being the usual gimmick, lifts and enhances the movie.

(but hey - to this day I still love The Abyss far more than T2, so I may not be normal!!)

There is a featurette up too, about 4m long with interviews and some new scenes from the movie. Might have been linked before

A thing that struck me after having checked the trailers is that the Na'vi race are huge. Probably about 3m tall.

Here is a snap from the August teaser.

The only thing I want to nitpick on is the excessive jumping off cliffs and landing on flying mounts. It seems very impractical, and also would diminish the population rather quickly considering all factors at play. But I'm still hyped, I want to see this movie.
