Side note, I just hope the issue with Dana and her psych ex ends soon, I don't know how many more hours I can take of that annoying crap. Maybe Ms. Renee can go Russian Mafia on him

Me too. It's painfully frustrating to watch.

Oh I agree. It is unclear how this subplot will play a roll, but I'm certainly more interested in the main plot at this point. I predict that Dana is actually a bad guy... :shifty:

I mean, why else would she have falsified her identity!? Its not like she couldn't have gotten a good non-government job with a smaller amount of effort. I think that the russians put her there.

I dunno perhaps to get away from her obsessive ex? :p

I miss James Morrison's character, Bill Buchanan. He was, in my opinion, the "best" Director of CTU.

He was definitely the best one too. Except I really liked how Jack was the director of CTU in Season 2 (I believe).

The CTU director in Season 3 was also a very interesting character. I can't remember his name... but he had a lot of character depth that I liked. When he ended up killing himself because the terrorists demanded it was one of the more intense moments in 24...by far.

True. But if you falsify your identity for a job at CTU, you are looking at some serious prison time if you are caught... there has to be more motivation for the risk than "her ex."

Ah yes, Ryan Chappelle, who was the Regional Division Director (?), I believe. That was a brutal moment. :(

I'm the same way, although 24 earlier seasons had these other threads in them (like Chloe with her baby, Michelle and her over-needy brother, Kim and the psycho wife beating husband, etc.) But you're right, Renee is too hard core. "I'm not cutting of the bracelet." That is just cold! And Jack is the one saying she's gone too far! What she did was a classic Jack move!

Agreed. Its not the easiest thing to do is falsify your identity and it not show up on a background check. There are a lot if other jobs outside the government where it would be easier to get away with. My thoughts she changed her name legally but technically only a very few people would need to know. But then that does not make for a very interesting story.

Brutal only begins to describe it. By far one of the most shocking things I've ever seen in a show.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think any other on-screen death has ever felt more real to me. And then how the count from :59 to :00 was in silence right afterwords...sends chills up my spine. God I love 24!

If the people working at (and with) CTU were to make the correct decisions every single time, 24 would lose its zest and there would be absolutely no excitement.

Their stupidity reminds me of Medium where Alison wakes up from a dream and her husband says dont worry its just a dream or the DA says "Alison, you had a dream do you expect me to believe your dream"...stupid crap like that after so many seasons just makes the show retarded, I feel 24 has reached that point. As for excitement, I think Renee (Jack 2.0) will add that.

I hate to be the one to say it but the opener was lack luster. The saving grace was freckles at the end. I hope this season picks up and quick.

With the introduction of a possible nuclear disaster (along with the "new and improved" Renee Walker), I'm quite certain that it will be picking up. :)

24 was definitely WHOA, just watched the 2 episodes from last night.

Oh and another WHOA moment, did anyone else get the quick server switch back to Atlas? I pressed refresh and i was in Atlas then 2 mins later it came back to here where i'm typing now. LOL

Come on man cut Bubba some slack. His specialty is shrimp not terrorism.

Haha, I didn't realize it was the same guy. That's awesome.

I liked the premier overall. Started a bit slowly, but the last little bit at the end was awesome. Every 24 season seems to start pretty slowly and then build up from there. I suppose that's why they have a four hour premier to begin with.

Renee's new attitude is pretty awesome, and it should definitely make things interesting for Jack to have an unruly partner for a change (unlike Curtis, Chase, etc who always listened to him no matter what).

But yeah, I thought that the whole sub-plot with Dana and her ex was pretty annoying. I love how he just happened to start causing trouble on this particular day of all the days.

Maybe this has been answered already and I'm to lazy to read through the entire thread.. I'm really confused about how long after season 7 this is supposed to be? I thought it was supposed to be only a few months after it? But in the show they seem to be talking years?
