Have you ever noticed how Jack always gets handcuffed, detained then let loose at lease once per season.

Well, they know if they don't uncuff him he'll just strangle them with the cuffs.

i was so disappointed that cole didn't put one between the eyes on those douchebags

Yeah, he only blew one away with a shotgun ;)

Any hope for another season of ?24?? ? Josue

There had been talk that ?24?s renewal would be informed by its latest ratings, but the truth is that any dips this or last week won?t figure into the decision, due to the heavy-duty Olympics competition. Regardless, Fox does have quite the Sophie?s Choice coming up, since it?s not likely to renew ?24,? ?Fringe,? ?Lie to Me? and ?Human Target.? Which would you cut? To the ?24′ skeptics, know this: As suggested last night, any B-stories that have you groaning will die down by spring, clearing the way for a tight second half. And on the guest star front, Stephen Root (?Office Space?) turns up soon as a parole officer with really bad timing, while Emmy nominee Gregory Itzin is due for an encore as President Charles Logan.

Why would you wanna cut 24? :(

because its had 8 seasons and the stories are as weak as a chocolate teapot

Fringe has loads more to tell which the could do with another 2 seasons and then end it at 4

24 already being shopped around to other networks?

Another very bad sign for 24 according to NBC Angela Bromstad 24 seems to be exploring other networks for a pickup meaning it is probably very unlikely to be renewed by FOX

THR: If Fox passes on doing another season of "24," would NBC be interested?

Bromstad: I think it would be expensive for us. It's been floated. It's all going to come down to how strong our development is.

This episode was a moderate improvement over the last, if for no other reason than the absence of the two douchebags (well, they were mostly absent), but compared to other seasons this one is a pretty big disappointment so far. Why the hell didn't Jack just grab that guy the moment he saw him? His hesitation was completely out of character, and a blatant attempt to kill time on the writers' part.

Back in some of the other seasons (1, 3, 5, and even 7 for that matter) I was so engrossed in the show that I would drop everything to watch it, but nowadays I usually have my laptop out to do some work while 24 runs in the background. The show should have ended while it was still good, but I feel that way about most television shows. It's so hard to make a hit TV show that when one finally succeeds, the networks just have to run it into the ground.

Yet another problem facing 24 Annie Wersching (Renee) is pregnant this won't affect season 8 but given her pregnancy she will not be available for the bulk of season 9 if it were picked up (which is not a likely outcome at this point)

oh hell naw!

I'm not really paying much attention to it anymore. Every episode seems like the same old stuff repeatedly.

yep I gave up about 5 episodes back its just crap again, I gave up earlier then on Season 7...I hope this is the last season.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
