Man... Monk, 24, Lost, Heroes.... The last six months have been brutal for my television watching habits. Possibly for the better.

With the extra time off, I really hope that the movie will contain a more focused conspiracy style plot like in season one and not be forced to rehash. Jack being on an extended run was already done, but how else could it have finished? So long Jack! See you in a movie or two!

What a joke, the producers said that the show will come to a conclusion and that we wont be left hanging which is exactly what it didnt do, what happened to President Taylor, what happened to Logan, Suvarov, Jack etc........................ i know they left it open for a movie but damn what an unsatisfying ending.

For real, I wasn't left with a feeling of accomplishment at all. lol But at least I didn't get a feeling of sadness like other series finales leave you with.

I have to disagree. I think that the end was really great. There was closure in almost everything and the show also left a bit of space for the future movie.

This. This is how a TV series should end. Eight seasons and nine years later, it all led up to one freaking incredible finale. I admit, there were some lame eps and storylines but it was still a great show. My favorites were the nuclear bomb and toxic gas seasons.

btw, Logan was so dumb he couldn't even kill himself with a gun. Now he's just gonna be retarded (or even more retarded than usual).

what i am wondering is how a movie will work out, the whole nature of the show is that is in real time.

well a feature length movie is what 2 hours give or take, so hows that going to work out ?

2 hours of it probably will be in realtime and since its not an actual 24 hour show they can lose large chunks of time travelling to places you normally couldnt, no one would sit and watch jack bauer sit on a plane for 5-6 hours travelling somewhere but they can compress that time to fit in 2 hours.

I figure its going to be 3 real time 40 minute sections, split for travel or whatever.

So day starts - 40 mins. Skip 8 hours. 40 more minutes. Skip 12 hours and end with another 40 minutes - theres a 24 hour period.

24 executive producer Howard Gordon has explained the recent series finale.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gordon admitted that he had thought about killing off Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

"We certainly considered it," he said. "We considered killing him earlier [in the season] as an off-rhythm thing. But every time we went there and pencilled it out, it didn't feel satisfying. It felt frustrating or it felt affected or something."

Gordon also suggested that although Jack is "cut free" at the end of the show he is also a "nomad".

"He's a man without a country," he continued. "The very country that he has served and obviously sacrificed everything for has basically spit him out again and he is a fugitive. If you look at all of the [season] endings that we've had, to me it was important not to repeat ourselves. I don't think Jack has ever actually left as a fugitive, unwanted and unwelcome on his own shores."
