Well, that is actually exactly the look which I'm going for if I'd be using the ones without the line :p The screenshot on deviantART had an extra shadow for the buttons which is removed in the current mockup. Still not sure if I'm going for the extra lines or not.

Well... now I'm on Windows 7 but this makes me want to go back to Windows XP... at least on my Desktop which was using XP x64 until a few days ago.

But I just can't stay forever on an aging OS. I'm afraid of continue to love it for so long that I might start getting support problems from some of my apps :(

Well, you can always use it while using XP mode, like dlegend is doing :p

I honestly don't like the overlay flag on the current taskbar. It works well with the smaller taskbar because the buttons extend to the edge of the bar, but it looks weird to me with the thicker taskbar.

I don't have VM extensions on this computer :p But well... I'll still fave it :p We never know if in a few months I get back to XP (I doubt ir but... :p)

But it's really a shame. On Vista there was never a theme that I liked. On 7 it will be probably the same (at least for awhile). XP has a good selection of beautiful themes like yours and from other authors as well.

Didn't came here for a few days and I'm glad to see the new Novus released :)

Like the coloured start button better, looks cute. And I prefer the button without lines.

Emico is my favourite VS when I was still using XP. It's a shame that I use Windows 7 now, but I think I can use Novus when my Windows 7 RC expired at March 2010, for I don't intend to buy a Windows 7 for this old laptop :D

Why would you want to have it without lines? They're not just lines, it's a whole button like the other taskbar buttons. Behind the text and the icon there's another overlay over the taskbar which has those lines, which makes it a button.

Nope, I simply don't like it anymore. Not gonna work on something that I don't like. I also don't want to add substyles just for a different image and such.

As for the thicker style, it has to wait a little longer :)

I am sorry to hear that. I was hoping you will release it today :-(

Aoi is a great style, the way you put it first time + new buttons = just what i am looking for. But knowing your work you do not want to release something you are not satisfied with and I understand it. If you change your mind, aoi will be greated by me.

Anyway thank you again for Novus :-)

Just so you know, Aoi is going to be a substyle of Novus and not a seperated visual style. Aoi was merely a "code name" for the personal mod. I chose the name because it was basically just a blue theme, so go figure what Aoi means ;)

The current mockup is looking a bit different compared to the personal mod which I had made.

That's exactly the same as releasing it. It also doesn't change the fact that it's inconsistent with the blue theme. Also, why would I allow a mod pack if I state "Modifications: For personal use only." in the OP.

    • New Outlook for Windows and Web is getting a simple but very useful email feature by Sayan Sen Recently Microsoft put up a blog post highlighting not one, not two, but 15 total reasons why it feels you should switch to New Outlook already. If that was not enough, the company is bringing another new feature soon that could finally compel you to switch over to the new app. According to a recent update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the tech giant is making changes to how message sorting works when users choose criteria besides the traditional options of From, Subject, or Date Received. The idea is to provide better options for the attribute being used for sorting and make it easier to understand why messages appear in a particular order. For those unfamiliar Outlook already allows users to sort emails using a variety of fields including sender, category, importance, subject, and message size. Users can access these options through the Filter menu in Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. With the upcoming change, whenever users sort by a field other than From, Subject, or Date Received, Outlook will automatically display an additional column showing the value being used for the sort. For example, if messages are sorted by Size, a Size column will appear in the message list, allowing users to immediately see the data that determines the ordering of emails. Microsoft believes this should make sorting behavior simpler and reduce the need to manually adjust views or inspect individual messages. Support for sorting by Flag Due Date is also coming and should be especially be helpful for users who rely on email flags to manage follow-up tasks and deadlines. The feature is listed under Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 564803 and is expected to reach general availability beginning later this month itself (June 2026). You can find the entry here. As always though, users should keep in mind that roadmap timelines can change and rollout schedules may occasionally be adjusted by Microsoft. Outlook for Web is also set to receive this feature.
    • That is true. but the liability side of my balance sheet is clean and has been for decades.  Nobody comes a knocking,  calling or writing harassing me for the money i owe them.😎👍  Haven't dealt with "a money changer" in decades and like Jesus it was in Jerusalem.  Don't have much money, but have even less stress in my life.👍👍     P.S.  Sorry, can't walk on water or change it to wine,
    • Maybe ? DLSS Swapper (can swap the DLSS/FSR/XeSS versions) as long as the game (typically online/competitive) doesn't checks for file tampering. You can try different version(s) or update if not the current version of the FSR. https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper
