There is no wrapup in the last episode of the season (it wasn't filmed a series finale) and it is understood behind the scenes that it is effectively cancelled.

'Scrubs' creator 'expecting show to end'

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence has admitted that he thinks the show will be cancelled soon.

The programme's ninth season saw it rebooted after Judy Reyes and Zach Braff decided to leave.

Meanwhile, regulars Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke have recently landed roles in new pilots, putting the future of Scrubs in doubt.

"In my heart and head I felt like Scrubs ended last year," Lawrence told E! News. "This year was a bit of a spinoff, but I really liked it, I liked what they did. They worked really hard."

He added: "I'm always very honest. I say it's a one in ten chance that it's going to be on after the next two weeks."

Scrubs Canceled?

Posted on 13 March 2010 by Robert Seidman

Is Scrubs finally canceled? The ratings say it won?t be renewed and the show?s creator says he doesn?t think it will be renewed. Of course last year the ratings said the show wouldn?t be renewed and creator Bill Lawrence said it wouldn?t be renewed either. Then it was renewed.

This year, ABC?s web site is also saying it is over for Scrubs where text on the show?s site indicated Wednesday?s episode is the shows series, rather than season finale.. But the official word out of ABC is that Wednesday?s episodes is merely the show?s season finale and no decision has yet been made about next season yet. The episode description also is describing it as a season, rather than a series finale.

Whether the Web site thing is merely an ?oops, we meant season finale,? type of slip up or not (that hasn?t been changed as of yet) our guess is series finale.

Same thing was posted on the Facebook page.

Didn't really feel like a finale to me, I actually forgot it was until just now.

Shame really, it was getting better too.

when they were filming they were probably told it was a midseason or a season finale not as it turned out to be a possible series finale.

from zach braff?s facebook:

Many of you have asked, so here it is: it appears that ?New Scrubs?, ?Scrubs 2.0?, ?Scrubs with new kids?, ?Scrubbier?, ?Scrubs without JD? is no more. It was worth a try, but alas? it didn?t work. zb

Please don't tell me they're canceling this and Better Off Ted but renewing The Middle. IMO, a line up of Scrubs, Better Off Ted, Modern Family, and Cougar Town (my least favorite of the bunch, but still good), would rival NBC's Thursday line up of comedies of the mid/late 80's to early 00's. No offense to NBC's current offerings - I think they just lost me with their show juggling, and I never went back (Scrubs even lost me for a couple of years there).
