Unknown folder in Hotmail

This really spooked me out, I check my hotmail and there was this folder created named sonrie.net and I ain't the one that created it. :cry: The folder was empty so I went to the site and I don't know what to make of it. Anyone else have this folder mysteriously appear in their accounts or am I the only one. :no: I've took a screenshot for all to see. Now I have to change/mix up all my passwords again :angry:

i can't explain it. unless you're accessing hotmail through some third party site somehow. (sonrie.net?)

Nope... checked my hotmail and their it was. I check my mail a lot everyday. It wasn't their and hour or two ago and suddenly it comes outta nowhere. All I was doing was watching a DVD on my computer. If I access hotmail through anything else than a browser it's Outlook Express.

why does your screenshot show "sonrie.net" all over the place? the titlebar, on the right side of the window? i don't know anything that can do that to a site without modifying the code... :ermm:

i did notice that you have a window open called "sonrie.net - 3 simples..." what's that?

I was checking my email, just before I was about to sign out, I saw the folder on the bottom of the list, so I clicked on it and it was empty. So I opended another browser typed the address and that why it says "sonrie.net - 3 simples..." Didn't know what the hell it was so took a screenshot.

i looked at the site. i don't know spanish, so i can't read much of it. but it looks like a pretty wierd site "we don't try to change the world, just make you smile" ??? :blink:

If you believe your hotmail account has been compromised...

- Change password (done).

- Run antivirus/anti-trojan software.

- Check for keylogging programs or adware that may have been installed onto your computer.

- Check with family members/friends who may have accessed your account or computer.

To prevent this in the future...

Only thing I can think of is that if you log into a public place, log out, clear cookies, etc.
