Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready Power Supply

Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail

OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Series (OCZ2P800R22GK)

and im wondering on how well this components work when being overclocked... im currently in the processing of upgrading but want to know if its worth just overclocking the components i have now to see how things handle... could anybody give me a few tips or pointers about the procedure to overclock these components and also if they are suitable to be overclocked.

Thanks

Dan

im upgrading processor to quad core 2.4ghz q6600, and a new set of 4gb ram

but im wondering if i should just try and get this running higher/faster, see if it handles well enough

its basically for music production not gaming, so its pretty RAM intense, so im going down the 64 bit windows 7 route when thats out, and with a slightly overclocked q6600 running at 3ghz quad and the 4gb ram, it should be stable and run good, but was just enquiring about the components im using now

I think you will get much more performance out of the upgrade especially considering how high you want to overclock the Q6600. Even if you could get a 500mhz overclock on the CPU, I don't think the performance will matter in comparison to the pretty cheap upgrade you can do.
