"Aero Glass Purple" Emerald theme + colours

Aqua Glass Purple 1.0

This is my first try at an Emerald theme, combining the OS X Aqua buttons (including glow effects) with a nice glass bar :cool:

To apply the theme, open the Emerald Theme Manager, click on "Import", select the AquaGlassPurple.emerald theme file and click on "Open" in the lower right corner. Next, select "AquaGlassPurple" from the themes list, and it will be applied automatically.

Note: This theme uses the "MV Boli" font for the titlebar. If you don't have it, open the included mvboli.ttf in the Font Viewer and click on "Install" in the lower right corner.

To use the included colour scheme, copy the .color file to the following sub-directory in your home directory:

/.kde4/share/apps/color-schemes

Then open the Kde Control Centre, go to Appearance > Colours, select "Aqua Glass Purple" and click on "Apply" in the lower right corner.

Good joke :rofl:

No, as you can see at the very top, it says: "Customising your *nix Desktop", *nix meaning Linux and variants.

Doing the same theme on Windows would be a royal pain in the ass, with no good and convenient tools around to do it. Besides, MS doesn't want people to customise their Windows, otherwise you wouldn't have to patch several files in order to use themes. On top of that, all themes are intentionally made unusable when a new Windows version appears (XP->Vista, Vista->Win7), and you even need different themes for 32bit/64bit :pinch:

Which Kde version ?

Currently using it on Kde 4.2.4 w/ Compiz/Emerald 0.8.2 (still waiting for Kde 4.3 to appear in the repositories).

Something I forgot to mention:

The titlebar can be either normal layout or OS X layout. To use the latter: after selecting the theme from the list in the Emerald Theme Manager, click on "Edit themes" at the top. Then, on the "Titlebar" tab, select "OS X Layout" from the "Titlebar Object Layout" combobox.

Version 1.2 is done :cool:

I've put some more work into the title bar and title bar buttons and did some more fine-tuning.

Besides that, I've also done an orange variant, have a look. Download links are at the bottom.

I like the orange version (Y)

One question though, did you build this from scratch, or did you mod a previously existing theme. Because I've started changing colour scheme of an emerald theme and ended up with something that might pass as a mod/new theme.

I did it from scratch.

If you modded a theme, you should give the original creator credit.

Even though hyperscalers such as Google and Amazon have their own mature AI accelerators, NVIDIA still dominates the AI infrastructure market with multiple generations of GPUs. Microsoft, OpenAI, and Meta remain among NVIDIA’s largest customers, while Google and Amazon continue to be significant NVIDIA customers as they serve AI workloads for customers on their cloud platforms. Today, OpenAI and Broadcom announced Jalapeño, OpenAI’s first custom “Intelligence Processor” designed specifically for large language model inference. The new chip is the first product from a multi-generation compute platform being developed by OpenAI. OpenAI highlighted that Jalapeño was built from the ground up for current and future LLM workloads, rather than being a general-purpose accelerator adapted for AI. Despite heavy competition from Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and others, ChatGPT remains the most used AI platform in the world. OpenAI mentioned that it leveraged its knowledge of how its models and products run at scale, including ChatGPT, Codex, the API, and future agentic AI systems, to design this new chipset. Its chip architecture reduces data movement while balancing compute, memory, and networking resources. Jalapeño will be deployed in production systems starting in late 2026; however, engineering samples are already running machine learning workloads in OpenAI’s labs at production target frequency and power. According to its internal testing, OpenAI claims this chip can deliver “substantially better” performance per watt, and a detailed technical report is expected in the coming months. While OpenAI designed the chip, Broadcom handled silicon implementation and networking technologies, including Tomahawk networking silicon, and Celestica is assisting with board, rack, and system-level integration. OpenAI pointed out that Jalapeño went from initial design to manufacturing tape-out in just nine months, which it claims is the fastest ASIC development cycle achieved for a high-performance advanced semiconductor. The company attributed the speed of development to its own LLMs, which were used during the chip design and optimization process. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan stated that the company's plan is to deploy the Jalapeño platform at a gigawatt scale with Microsoft and other partners starting in 2026.       Regarding the AI photo, I LOVE AI in that regard, you ask it what you want and it gives you a lovey photo in under a minute, that would taken me an hour to make in photoshop and it wouldn't have looked nearly as good. 2 nights ago I spent a couple hours collaborating with AI.  I did not say write me an article. I would write one or 2  paragraphs, then I would ask it to clean it up so it read better but still keeps the information I was trying to convey.  Rinse repeat.
