What was the last movie you watched?

Tucker & Dale vs Evil

I absolutely loved this movie. I had no idea what to expect from it. I didn't know if it was supposed to be a horror movie or what, but some comedy pops out and I was about to die laughing. Awesome movie.

Last weekend watched Puss In Boots

Just such a great movie. Absolutely loved it.

Anyone who is a cat owner such as I am will definitely really appreciate all the subtle things they put in from cats with real life.

5/5

Also went to a matinee at the movie theater itself to see Chronicle.

Was a decent film. I liked it a lot more than my wife did though, that is for sure.

It definitely had a few scenes that every boy that ever dreamed of being a super hero could appreciate.

3.5 / 5

Also tried watching We Need To Talk About Kevin

There may be a good movie there somewhere, but I did not make it far enough to find out if there was.

It was not only slow, but it was incredibly depressing as well. Just had no desire to watch it after about 45 minutes of trying.

1.5 / 5

Finally, the weekend before last weekend, watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Fantastic Movie. Absolutely loved it. 4.5 / 5

6.5/10

It was OK. Cool concept, but, there were many plot holes that brought it down.

2/10 (3D movie-going experience)

I went and saw this Sunday in theaters. Of course I had seen it before, so I won't rate it on that.

This was my first 3D movie that I saw in theaters. I was very disappointed, and my brother constantly reassured me this is the worst 3D movie he has seen (and he has seen a lot) and there were way better ones, so don't give up on the theater 3D experience. We got up and left about 3/4 through, because, really, I love Star Wars (see: Original Trilogy), but watching this movie more than 5 times, in 11 years is more than enough.

My wife wanted to watch this last night. It is only 13 minutes long so i am not certain if it can be classified as a movie.

4/5 (took 1 point off because it was stupid)

Underworld_Awakening_3.jpg

7.5/10 bits of intense action, overall not really the same pull as the other movies.

8/10 pretty funny, but at times kinda stupid. I like stupidly funny movies if they are stupid but funny the entire time.

Star Wars: Phantom Menace in 3D

Absolutely crap. I had gotten to the point where I was ready to give the film a second chance, and 3D would be a bonus.

Wrong in so many ways. It's an absolute turgid pile of pants. Badly written, terrible acting, pooly paced kidfest. I love Star Wars and I was ready to say "You know TPM wasn't as bad as people make out". But it really was. I fell asleep.

As for the 3D? Worst implementation of 3D I have ever seen.

    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.

    • And I just bought a seat cushion for my mesh chair. The chair feels nice but the first time I sat in it with boxers, I realized I don't like the feel of mesh on my legs. 😂
