i can`t get the statusbar to be transparent , i pasted the posted above code and nothing happens how can i achieve this

Update to the latest version of Strata40 (v0.4.3) to a get semi-transparent status bar. Make sure to read the instructions as some add-ons and stuff aren't needed. No userstyles are needed for this release.

I have three issues with this theme.

1. The end of the address bar and the beginning of the search bar are overlaying each other.

2. Normally, it's possible to drag-resize the length of AB and search bar but those resizers don't seem to be there any more

3. Stop button isn't on the "Customize" list and only appears when that list is opened.

I'd very much appreciate if someone could give me some guidance with those, thank you.

P.S. How can I turn off the glow of bookmarks in the Bookmarks toolbar? It causes lots of CPU usage on one of my QuadCore cores.

As far as #3 goes, that's because (and Spew can correct me if I'm wrong), the theme has it set up so that the stop and reload buttons overlap each other automatically (like many extensions/css codes have done up until now) as this is the behavior shown in the FF 3.7/4.0 mockups (as a matter of fact the mockups point to this as one of the changes).

In order to have the best possible stop/reload look, follow this format:

Addressbar -> Stop button -> Reload Button.

~ In fact, if you check Strata40's deviantArt page, you will notice under "Must read below" that Spew himself mentions this.

And I definitely agree with the person above in regards to Omnibar, not only will it solve your problem, but it's a fantastic extension and much more in tune with the 4.0 mockups than keeping the search and address bars separate.

Finally switched over to this theme from 3.7 Redux. Looks quite beautiful, even with the few drawbacks because I rely on TabMixPlus, nice work!

There's just one thing that really bothers me, ever since I'm using this theme my splash screen is a bit messed up:

ffsm.jpg

As you can see the transparency is only 1/3 there while the other 2/3 of the pic now on top of a gray box.

Doesn't happens with any other theme, only Strata40 0.4.3

The addon I use is Splash! 2.0.2 on Firefox 3.5.3

Any idea how to fix this?

In order to have the best possible stop/reload look, follow this format:

Addressbar -> Stop button -> Reload Button.

I went for that format, but when I closed the Customise window the Reload button disappeared. When I went into Customise window again it came back on and vanishes when I closed Customise.

I'll give Omnibar a try too.

EDIT: Omnibar is not for me. I already have Smarter Fox and that does the job. There is still a problem with not being able to resize AB and Search bar.

That is odd, if the page loading. The bottoms work by placing both but only the reload shows up when page has loaded, and stop when its loading. I would disable all other addons other than the ones need for the theme. If that works then start enabling them again until you find the one that courses it.

Well that's certainly weird, but it's probably an addon/stylish-css conflict. When I first started using Strata I had all sorts of weird problems because of how many things I already had modifying the default look of FF, and since Strata40 does a lot of modifications of its own, some clash.

I would try disabling all your addons and stylish styles (if you have any) that you have and then re-enabling them till you find the culprit, hopefully that'll do the trick.

Also, on your whole search/address bar issue, I'm going to assume that the ability to resize them was probably not included because Spew recommends using Omnibar which makes both obsolete.

You might try leaving a comment on his dA page and seeing if he can answer you directly, he's fairly good at keeping up to date there.

Try this:

#webdeveloper-toolbar {
margin-left: 2px !important;
margin-right: 2px !important;
-moz-border-image: url("chrome://redux-addon/skin/css/Tab-BG.png") 0 8 0 8 / 0 8px 0 8px !important;}

Where do I put this code in?

Never mind, I manage to figure it out. I'm now hoping for another bug to be removed, namely the Norton toolbar. Here is what I mean:

Basically, the background is not skinned. Since I don't really have a need to put a Bookmarks bar below the address bar, can someone whip up something so that the same semi transparent background can be used on Norton Toolbar?

This is a Firefox theme I have been working on. As the title states, it is based on the Firefox 4.0 mockups that have recently been floating round the net. It's called Strata40. It will transform your Firefox browser into a convincing Firefox 4 lookalike.

Go here to download this theme and for installation instructions. It's easier than it looks ;)

And that's it! Enjoy this Firefox 4 lookalike theme and tutorial :D

I've been using this theme and really enjoy it - keep up the good work!

WIth the 3.6 version of firefox, hovering over tabs in the taskbar turns everything that is transparent in firefox black. Is there a way to fix this? :

If I had to guess I would say that it's an issue caused by Firefox 3.6 and the way they've implemented the tab previews (perhaps an incompatibility with glasser?) and not the theme. Since beta 1 of Firefox 3.6 hasn't even been released yet I'd say that's an issue that needs to wait until at the least when the beta is released, though I wouldn't be concerned until the final version is publicly released if it hasn't been resolved then.

I don't really expect this will be fixed until the glass transparency is implemented in Firefox properly instead of with an extension.

I've made a tab progress line userstyle for the Strata40 0.4.3 theme in line with the most recent 3.7 mockup (which will most likely carry over in 4.0, but they're currently focusing on 3.7 since it's in the middle of "crunch time" while 4.0 is very "pie in the sky"):

21240_before.png ---> 21240_after.png

Go get it: http://userstyles.org/styles/21240 :)

I removed the throbber and also made the line appear on current tab. However the line on the current tab is just a little to high?

Try this addon:

https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/14644

I use this instead of Informational Tab addon and the progress line fits.

For the green color you need this in stylish:

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");
.tab-progress > .progress-bar { background-color: #58FD59 !important; }

    • Save 35% on Sony's SS-CS5M2 3-way high-res bookshelf speakers by Taras Buria Sony is currently offering a big discount on its SS-CS5M2 bookshelf speaker, saving you 35% on a set of high-quality audio equipment. The SS-CS5M2 is a passive 3-way bookshelf speaker with a 5.12-inch woofer, a 25 mm soft-dome tweeter, and a 19 mm super tweeter. This design allows different drivers to handle different parts of the sound spectrum for a clearer, more detailed audio when watching movies or listening to music. The compact cabinet size allows you to place these speakers on shelves, desks, or stands, making them a practical choice for apartments, bedrooms, and small living rooms. Despite its compact size, the SS-CS5M2 delivers up to 100 W of power. Note that since the speakers are passive, you will need an amplifier to drive them. However, if you do, you can use them for high-resolution music, thanks to a claimed frequency response of 53 Hz - 50 kHz. It is able to extend so far high in the spectrum as a result of those super tweeters. While they will work with most amplifiers and AV receivers, Sony says this pair is a perfect match for its AV receivers, such as STRDH190, 590, 790, or 1000. • So they somehow expect Apple to easily make it so that if I install say DeepSeek that DS can then handle all the tasks that Siri would be doing while integrated in the OS? That sounds like just rediculous.
