WIth the 3.6 version of firefox, hovering over tabs in the taskbar turns everything that is transparent in firefox black. Is there a way to fix this? :

Could you tell me your theme you are using please?

EDIT: Found it - Soft7 1.6

Sweet theme. Thanks.

One small issue that I'm having is that when a page is loading, the urlbar gets longer and pushes everything to the right. How to fix this

EDIT:

Never mind. I found that the issue was related to ReloadEvery.

No longer works... what does THAT mean? where (OS, Firefox version etc.) and what does it happen?

As I said it doesn't matter. But I'm running Windows Vista 64bit with Firefox 3.5.4 (Also didn't do anything in 3.5.3). This was for the tabs on top. Those in IRC knew what I was talking about. All of a sudden the Stylish script decided to work. So I'm using that now.

But yeah, the Tabs on Top just wouldn't do anything.

Yeah, I had some trouble with StrataBuddy but it started to work all of a sudden. Not sure what I did but in between my many restarts of Firefox, StrataBuddy decided to work for me. Odd.

Thanks though! I had to fiddle around with a few extensions but I've got it the way I like it. :D

Edit: Hmm. I was trying to avoid using Stylish but it seems to be easier to manage in the long run. I have the tabs on top option checked in StrataBuddy, but there's a visible flash of the tabs switching when I first open Firefox. Stylish doesn't do this so I'm just going back to that. Still using StrataBuddy for the progress bar on the tabs with Information Tab, though.

Just thought I would jump in on this thread and say how smooth and simple it was to get this skin up and running with all the extra features.

Running Windows 7 64-bit.

So, thanks to the author. :]

Anyway to make the status bar behave like it does in Chrome and only show when you mouse over a link?

I tried some autohide taskbar exention, but it messes with the glass effect :(

I've switched back over from ChromePlus because this theme is great, but Firefox is such a waste of screen estate compared to Chrome.

Thanks

StrataBuddy isn't changing anything at all for me... when I restart Firefox its as if I didn't make any changes at all in it, I'm running Firefox 3.5.4 in Windows 7 32 bit, I don't really know where to begin to troubleshoot this. Can anyone help?

Just keep randomly clicking and restarting and enabling the stylish script and eventually it'll work.

Do you have the 'Tools' button on the toolbar? You might also try clicking reset in StrataBuddy options, restart Firefox, then choose your settings again.

Finally got it working, if anything under Bookmarks is checked for me it negates all settings, and I have to keep the Zune theme checked, one problem that I have is that the bottom bar does not appear to be glassed, as seen here- http://imgur.com/JKY9U.jpg

I added the tool button to my Firefox and change the settings from there, I'm not sure if that's why things are working now.

That is normal, its a design choice by SpewBoy.

To get the bottom glass install StrataGlass - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/14288/

He already has StrataGlass installed. I made that design choice because that is how it is in the 3.7 mockups. They are the only mockups that actually feature a status bar. It is actually half transparent and does feature glass effects ;)

I know it's transparent on mine.

Not completely, but the screenshot here isn't transparent at all.

edit: I've just realised he must have his Aero colour intensity setting really high? Mines is practically all the way to the left that maybe explains why my status bar is noticeably transparent.

is there anything i can do about the black header on the history sidebar? it looks a bit fugly and i'd like to change it if possible.

Are you using StrataGlass or the Aero Glass option in StrataBuddy?

after the recent firefox update i'm getting bugs on the tabs on top, like the bar that is on the bottom of the tabs is carrying over and is overlaying all the tabs.

I'll post a screen if you don't get what i mean

Post a screenshot if you can.

Are you using StrataGlass or the Aero Glass option in StrataBuddy?

i had strata glass installed and an old version of strata buddy that didn't have an aero glass option. but i've just found a new version and that's allowed to me to uninstall strata glass and fix my problem. thanks for the pointer. :)

(trying to auto update from strata buddy 0.1.5.0 didn't find anything so i had to update manually)

    • Still 3x what it should cost. So, it seems the trick is to increase price by 6x so that a reduction in price back to 4x looks like a steal. "You savvy shoppers win again!" I'm glad I'm not in a desperate spot to actually even need this overpriced crap. Hopefully, it comes back down by the time for when (or if) I ever do.

    • Microsoft wants to end printer driver headaches with Windows Ready Print by Usama Jawad A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Experimental build 26300.8553, bringing a ton of enhancements such as Start menu customization, search improvements, Taskbar polish, and other minor UI tweaks. Another relatively major enhancement snuck deep within the change log was related to upgrades to the Windows printing experience. Now, Microsoft has shared more details about these benefits. For starters, Microsoft has renamed its Modern Print Platform to Windows Ready Print. The company believes that this name highlights its shift in strategy, which now focuses on modernizing, securing, and streamlining the printing experience for Windows devices. Some of the upgrades present in Windows Ready Print have already been seeded to customers and partners. This includes ending support for third-party printer drivers via Windows Update and transitioning towards the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the native Windows IPP printer driver. In line with these changes, new printer installations will default to Windows Ready Print on eligible devices starting from July 2026. However, Microsoft recognizes that not all environments will be able to migrate to this platform immediately, so it will allow users to choose between installing the printer via Windows Ready Print or the traditional OEM process. Users will be able to toggle this configuration through Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Printer preferences. This control applies only to new printer installations, and its functionality can also be modified via Group Policy as follows: Launch Group Policy Editor Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Printers Find and select 'Configure Windows Ready Print driver ranking' -> double click to open it Select 'Enabled' (if you wish to enable Windows Ready Print driver selection) or 'Disabled' (if you wish to explicitly disable Windows Ready Print driver selection). Select Apply Select OK Similarly, if you set up Windows protected print mode through the same setting in Windows 11, it will also default to using Windows Ready Print exclusively. Microsoft hopes that these improvements will help eradicate dependency on OEM-specific driver installation processes and simplify printer installations. We'll likely find out more about other tangible benefits in the coming months.
