Maybe this has been covered some where, I don't know..but anyways, kind of a game breaking issue is happening with my firefox and the latest version of Stratabuddy. Whenever I get a pop up scrolling no longer works with my mouse wheel, I can do it manually though. Also I can't close firefox or do much else with it. I have to kill it in the task manager. I disabled it and didn't have any problems. Anyone else experience this? Am I looking for support in the wrong place?

As BlackRider said, disable/uninstall StrataGlass, it is no longer needed, just select the 'Aero Glass' option in StrataBuddy and you're set.

I need help with stopping Stratabuddy from interfering with how the Locationbar2 extension displays.

With Stratabuddy disabled, Locationbar2 formats the URL in the Awesomebar like this, which is how I want it:

With Stratabuddy turned on, the URL becomes like this, which I do NOT want it to be:

Before anyone suggests it, what I do know at this point is that the Locationbar2 options have nothing to do with this issue. Advice would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Hi,

you have to deactivate the last feature in the options-window of Locationbar. Deactivate the arrow for every segment.

I was afraid someone would say this...

Thanks for the help, but - to reiterate myself - Locationbar2 settings have nothing to do with this. The options are already deactivated as well, btw.

Without installing the Locationbar it isn't like in your screenshot. With the Locationbar it's only by activating the option discribed by myself. It is a feature of the Locationbar, not of StrataBuddy.

First of all, thanks for the really impressive extension!

Do you have any plans about including some sort of tab grouping in the StrataBuddy, like one in IE8? Because when I'm trying to use any tab-grouping extension, which changes the background colour of tabs, the result looks terrible, like on the screenshot (this one is with Sort/Group Tabs extension).

SpewBoy is working on that at the moment. Currently it looks more or less like this:

IMO the font is too light but maybe he already changed it meanwhile.

Awesome, and yeah the font is definitely too light. I did mention this earlier and is kind of necessary, looking forward to the finished version.

Love this theme, but can anyone tell me why there is like a space between the home button and the address bar?

Addons: abp, all glass firefox mod, cooliris, hidemenubar, stratabuddy.

Thanks

Well, the 3.7 mockup from stratabuddy removes the space, but why does the 4.0 mockup have the space?

You have to move the reload-button at the right end of the adress bar. I think this will help.

Remove all-glass and use the glass option in StrataBuddy.

This theme is great, but I have two little problems that I can't seem to figure out...

1. When I mouse over the tabs, it's as if they enlarge by a pixel or so, and it makes the whole screen move up or down. I think it has something to do with the highlight, but I can't find any reason why it would cause the movement. I'll try to explain further if need be.

2. I've got a white line at the bottom of the tabs, that looks like a dotted line. I've attached a picture of it.

I'm sorry if this has been covered already, I browsed thru the topic but didn't see any definitive answers. Thanks much to anyone who can help.

Addons:

Apps Tab

Download Statusbar

Omnibar

Stratabuddy

Stylish

Themes:

Default

-=edit=- Well, I disabled Apps Tabs and the white line issue is resolved. If anyone can help with teh mouseover issue, that would be great. ;) -=/edit=-

I've got one Stylish script, to change the color of the text in my statusbar. As for my StrataBuddy options, I've got mostly default settings...

Bookmarks tab - I've got hide organize bookmarks selected

Tools tab has both options selected

Strata tab has 4.0 ( default ) and Areo Glass selected

Tabs tab is set to default

Misc tab has back/forward option set to default, none of the other Misc options are selected.

Hope this helps in some way.

Hm, could be the Stylish script, either that or another addon. Considering I'm using AppTab. I have similar options except for Organise Bookmarks.

And Tab Progress Bar

    • EU says Meta must restore rival chatbots' access to WhatsApp by Hamid Ganji The European Commission has ordered Meta to restore third-party AI chatbots’ access to WhatsApp after the tech giant decided to block them from operating on the popular messaging platform. After Meta banned rival AI chatbots from operating on WhatsApp, the European Commission launched an antitrust investigation to determine whether the company had abused its market dominance. As a result of Meta’s decision, third-party AI chatbots, including Microsoft’s Copilot and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, were prevented from operating on WhatsApp. At the time, Meta said it wanted to reserve the WhatsApp Business API for other types of businesses and did not allow rival chatbots to use it. This effectively prevented the WhatsApp ecosystem from being used to distribute rival chatbot services. However, the European Commission has now announced an interim measures decision requiring Meta to restore access to WhatsApp for rival general-purpose AI assistants on the same terms and conditions as before October 15, 2025. The Commission has also asked Meta to maintain that access until the antitrust investigation is concluded. The Commission argues that Meta has used its dominant market position to prevent rival AI chatbots from accessing the WhatsApp Business API. While Meta allowed rival services to return to WhatsApp by paying a fee, the European Commission still considers that arrangement to be a de facto access ban. According to EU antitrust chief Teresa Ribera, the fees introduced by Meta are so high that using WhatsApp is no longer economically sustainable for competitors. “It seems that Meta expects to leverage the vast reach and likely dominance of WhatsApp to benefit its own AI assistant and to foreclose rivals,” Ribera said. “We cannot let large digital incumbents leverage their dominance of the past to dictate who in Europe gets to compete and who gets to innovate in AI.”

    • Microsoft AI boss no longer believes that AI will replace human workers by David Uzondu Mustafa Suleyman, the head of Microsoft AI, recently took back his statements concerning white-collar jobs that he gave to the Financial Times in an interview made back in February, where he claimed that AI would replace office workers within 12 to 18 months. On Monday's episode of The Verge's Decoder, Suleyman recast the technology as more like a helpmate than a tool designed to take over your job. He explained that smaller office duties will "increasingly become digitized, automated" as people generate more digital materials. During the discussion, Suleyman emphasized a "very important distinction" between "tasks" and "jobs" to clarify his previous claims. He argued that his earlier comments only referred to individual actions that people perform at their desks. Suleyman used to work for DeepMind, the research lab he co-founded in 2010 alongside Demis Hassabis and Shane Legg, before he left in 2022 to establish Inflection AI and build an empathetic digital assistant. Microsoft hired him in March 2024 to lead its newly formed "Microsoft AI" division, placing him in charge of consumer products like Copilot, Bing, and Edge. His February comments also detailed plans for Microsoft to achieve self-sufficiency with a $140 billion infrastructure budget to train frontier models, predicting that creating a customized AI will soon feel like creating a podcast or a new blog: The 41-year-old is not the only AI executive who's softened his "AI will replace you" stance. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, last month used X to push back against employment panic by arguing that his startup builds tools to assist humans rather than build replacements. He had previously garnered backlash by suggesting that many modern office roles that AI might replace did not qualify as "real work" in the first place, at least when you compare desk jobs to physical, historical labor like farming.
