Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted August 13, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted August 13, 2009 LOL, you guys are hilarious. I wish they did ship them for $9.99 LOL! But this is why they have that stupid policy claim on their web site to revoke any sale they made a mistake on. trag3dy
I never really expected to get the tv, although I wouldn't have complained if my order had fallen through the cracks and I actually got one. Yusuf M. Veteran Posted August 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 13, 2009 Stuff like this just doesn't happen with big retailers like Best Buy. Ever heard the expression, "Too good to be true."? R-Flex
If you work in customer service, you know the pain of having to deal with a customer who is complaining about an issue such as this. It is just a mistake, and customers need to lay off. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/810088-hdtv-for-999/page/5/#findComment-591428022 Share on other sites

Tech Star
Best Buy $9.99 TV offer was too good to be true Few if any of the deals retailers have offered online during the recession have been as good as Best Buy Inc.'s sale price of $9.99 on a 52-inch TV Wednesday. But it quickly turned out the offer was too good to be true. The electronics retailer said it will not honor the $9.99 price posted Wednesday morning on its Web site for a 52-inch Samsung flat-screen TV. By early afternoon, the TV was listed at $1,799.99, almost half off the original $3,399.99 price. Bloggers and Twitterers lit up the Internet with posts about the offer, some insisting Best Buy must honor it, others making jokes. Best Buy, based in Richfield, Minn., said it has corrected an online pricing error and will not honor the incorrect price. Orders made Wednesday morning at the incorrect price will be canceled and customers will receive refunds, the company said. Best Buy did not immediately return a call for additional comment. News Source: Yahoo! News I wish I had gotten it and then taken it to Fry's and got a price match. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/810088-hdtv-for-999/page/5/#findComment-591428236 Share on other sites

Gary2MBz
Best Buy $9.99 TV offer was too good to be trueNews Source: Yahoo! News I wish I had gotten it and then taken it to Fry's and got a price match. :p Fry's does not price match stupid greedy b*stards. I found the exact same Airport Extreme on THEIR OWN INVENTORY LIST and on their website but the dumb clerk says we can't do that. I'm asking how others got away with getting the same thing for $60 less and it seems shes too dumb she just said sir, they are not the same. I showed her the web pages online and the specs were exactly the same. Even though they dont have the same inventory between retail and online, the item #s are all the same. I ended up paying the rest and I regret going thereafter. It seems the spaceship by the Burbank Airport that came for brains didn't find diddly squat. Back on topic, they must honor the price since in their OWN policy they state that the customer cannot be overcharged for ANY REASON. They shot their stupid selves in the foot....and ppl say Geek Squad helped me out. Going to the store in West L.A., a Seagate worker came by and looked at these guys weird, yes he did. Yeah, it's because Frys.com is managed by outpost.com and not by "Fry's", they just use the name. The Burbank store is not one of my favorites either. :/ They have some real stupid people working there. I personally love the one in the City of Industry, with the industrial revolution theme. They have a lot more competent workers there. They should honor it, but if they don't its not a loss to me. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/810088-hdtv-for-999/page/5/#findComment-591428354 Share on other sites

Speaking of stupid, I ask over the phone if I could UPS a return over and the idiot says no and adds extra crap besides getting to the point like "What the hell, you crazy boi?!?!?!" and I tell him I can't return it any way else because I'm busy throughout the time of the return days and I tell him I get in 1 hour rush hour traffic coming from the CircuitCity Hollywood areas. He says "Boi U Crazay!!! I take 20 minutes and get my ass over there from East L.A." I cussed out the little wannabe and hung up.
