Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - New details

Also discussed at EA?s press conference was the highly anticipated sequel to Battlefield: Bad Company.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will place more emphasis on working as a team of four players, whilst aiming to achieve common objectives. Compared to the first game, if at any point you die you will be able to respawn with your squadmates - providing much more convenient gameplay.

Utilising the squad mechanic will openly allow you to achieve game unlocks as well as exclusive achievements. The new Destruction engine, will also allow you to make more precise explosions - which will allow such opportunities as making holes in a wall to provide Snipers with their own man-made vantage points. Following on from this, it was revealed that buildings will actually be able to be completely reduced to rubble meaning that your cover will always be able to be chipped away.

Throughout this discussion, game play footage was displayed that provided some pretty stunning footage of the game. What we were treated to was a section of the game that was based in the Desert. The Squad was hiding, and the Sniper focuses on a tank within its sights. Following this, it was tagged by GPS and ordered to be taken out - the explosions that followed were stunning with scenery collapsing left, right and centre. The Frostbite engine continues to impress!

Here?s the latest trailer and as far as we?re aware the release date for the game is set for March 5th 2010

Doubt it, it's a regular trailer not a gameplay trailer.

"Throughout this discussion, game play footage was displayed that provided some pretty stunning footage of the game." I don't know - maybe I'm misreading it.

Starting 19 November 2009, PS3 gamers will be able to experience the unprecedented action, destruction, vehicular warfare, squad play and open sandbox environments that only Battlefield can deliver.

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer beta will feature the Arica Harbour map, where up to 24 players can compete in one of the game?s four intense multiplayer modes called Rush. This new map displays a superb balance of vehicle and infantry combat, as the American assault unit attacks the Russian army base with full force, advancing further through a beautiful desert town and towards the industrial area in a desperate attempt to overtake the Arica Harbour. Heavy vehicle warfare on the first bases gradually turns into an intense infantry fight as the level progresses, showcasing this best-in-class online war experience.

Gamers can get a taste of this incredibly intense action by a numbers of ways including reserving the game with participating retailers. While supplies last.

/happy!:rofl:l:

Words cannot describe how eager I am to play the PC version. It's been awhile but EA has finally done it. They finally brought the Bad Company series to the PC. Hopefully, it should hold me out until Battlefield 3.

Can't help but think this looks more like a small map with battlefield meets counter strike. As much as i have high hopes for this game it seems too much like a console players counter strike and PC version will be caught in between.

Frostbite from a realistic point of view... yeah cool can blow things ...but in reality not everything can blow up.

Just read the EAblogs thing...24 players :\ guess my last post was bang on..counter strike with tanks choppers and no cover in the end... sad they butchered battlefield :(

Also in the PC version? :s

Not really. Bad Company is smaller scale. Battlefield 3 will have 40v40.

Source?

So PS3 and PC get the beta and the 360 gets nothing till the demo?

Looks like my PC will be getting some shooter action.

That is correct, with the information we have right now.

I am glad that the PS3 is finally getting some love though. :D
