you can't modify xp boot loader to see 7, you will have to repair win7 boot loader.

insert the win7 dvd & boot the pc from it. after booting from dvd it'll show the option to repair the computer , select it.

now after it has detected win7 installation, in the task windows select "startup repair" option. this will fix your win7 boot loader.

but now winxp won't show in menu , so now download Easybcd, & add entry for xp manually.

isnt there a way to get a bootloader menu so you could either boot xp or 7?

of course there is. you can add xp entry manually in bcdstore using bcdedit or using "easybcd" software. if you have installed xp first & then win7 second you don't have to do anything since the process is automatic but not the other way around.
