ilovetech
you can't modify xp boot loader to see 7, you will have to repair win7 boot loader. insert the win7 dvd & boot the pc from it. after booting from dvd it'll show the option to repair the computer , select it. now after it has detected win7 installation, in the task windows select "startup repair" option. this will fix your win7 boot loader. but now winxp won't show in menu , so now download Easybcd, & add entry for xp manually. ilovetech
isnt there a way to get a bootloader menu so you could either boot xp or 7? of course there is. you can add xp entry manually in bcdstore using bcdedit or using "easybcd" software. if you have installed xp first & then win7 second you don't have to do anything since the process is automatic but not the other way around. Jiggah
That long post is pretty useless for Windows 7. It simply doesn't work, which is why the example only show Windows 2000. As ilovetech stated, the only way to get Windows 7 and XP as options is to use the Windows 7 bootloader. os2fan2
Get a program that will make a windows 7 boot disk image, and save the boot record to file. You can boot vista / win7 from xp by loading the boot loader as a legacy dos.
