iPod nano issue

Today I thought I would treat myself to a new iPod nano 16gb. Everything was going smoothly until about an hour after purchase.

I love using the headphones with the inline remotes so I've been using a pair of Maximo iMetal headphones. But if I fiddle with the jack on the ipod the track I'm listening to will pause, fast forward or skip. If i leave the ipod on a table it works fine but if the jack is moved, problems. I tried 2 sets, one ?50 pair and an ?80 pair which I bought for my iPhone and other iPod. They both work perfectly in those. So the question is, is this a rare issue?

Has anyone else experienced any similar problems?

You could argue that if I used a normal pair of headphones without the controls it will work fine. True. But I love having the extra control. Is it worth spending another ?30 and getting the new iPod nano with camera?
