Sidebar "Add gadget" button

This button... is there some way of moving it? Can it be placed at the bottom of the sidebar? Can it be hidden without hiding the whole sidebar?

there's so many gadgets in the Gallery, choose the better one, I dont see any of my gadgets have these weird buttons :o

No, it's not a gadget, it's the button at the top of the sidebar. The "+" opens the gadgets window, so you can select another one, and the two arrows allow you to scroll the sidebar left and right....

Anyway, I found the answer. Drag the gadgets off the sidebar, then right-click on the "+" and select "Close". This closes the sidebar, but leaves the gadgets on the desktop.
