Is it me or are ipods getting worse?

I think full featured players is the next generation. The iPod has had a fantastic run but it's day is nearly over. The Touch and even phones with mp3 capabilities will be the next big thing, at least I think so. Why have two or three things doing something one could do?

I agree. The only issue is that they have to make sure that they don't do anything to compromise one or the other. It has to be a great phone without negatively impacting the music functionality, and it has to be a great music player without impacting the phone. It's a rather fine line, so we'll see what happens. Maybe with Windows Mobile 7, given that the Zune OS is really well done it seems. I look forward to seeing where things go with this.

I still think the Classic is there BEST iPod.

I only wish it had a radio and came in white. I don't care about a camera, or apps, or any of that other stuff. I just want better audio quality.

My favorite is the Nano, but to each their own. The radio I agree with. That's one feature I wish they had added earlier. I don't want a video camera on my Nano. How many people are ever going to use that? Come on... The radio is probably the only worthwhile improvement in the last generation.

I rather like my iPod Nano (4G) and I'll probably keep it for a while (past the newest one because it's not a very good upgrade...) so far I've not had one problem. Well apart from 1-2 lock ups, easily sorted though :p

No, they're not a good upgrade at all. I was really disappointed. I had a few lockups with my iPod Nano 4G a while back, but an OS update was released that fixed them. I don't know if you have the current OS version, but it might be worth checking into.

I actually think Rogers is the best. On my iPhone 3G I get 6GB Data and Unlimited Texting for $30.

I get unlimited data for 15, and 10 faves and 450 minutes for 45 with telus..

Rogers doesn't have coverage in my town and no coverage for at least 2 hours away...

I agree they've had issues.

My first gen iPod Touch was replaced only after I used it a few times. The replacement seems to be working since.

My first gen iPhone was replaced 3 times. The last replacement had a terrible screen. Dead pixels galore, but I was out of warranty, I decided to try one more time and upgrade to the 3G in April this year. So far so good, although as of this week it's starting to randomly shut off. I did a restore and it seems to be working correctly again.

Battery life is terrible though. I can't go a day with out charging... under moderate usage.

I don't think my next phone will be an iPhone.

I agree with ya'all. I uh, am really disappointed by the iPod Nano previous gen battery life, but happy with everything else. I have to charge it pretty much every day, whereas with my classic it was maybe every 2 weeks of every-day usage :(

    • Shocker! It would be crazy to be ready to introduce a "fold" phone but have no plans happening for a followup model.
    • XBOX is at the end of its generational life cycle and wasn't selling much anyway. They need to figure out the pricing for XBOX Helios. However, I'm not buying the DRAM shortage with AI preferring HBM. I think it's industry gouging.
