Sir Topham Hatt
Hello! Okay, so I have just bought a classic Beetle and have been thinking about music. Now, what I was thinking is that I could buy a standard radio and put it in (the glove box) and wire it up, although this would fit the purpose, it would be rather somewhat boring. I didn't know if it was even possible to have some sort of connection from the battery to charge something up using USB. Then I'd have another 3.5mm jack which I am sure I could convert to some standard car speakers. This means I can simply have my mp3 player on all the time playing music. My concern would be then having to wire the speakers to the battery seperately. Has anyone thought about this or has any experience in this field? Thanks Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/825892-audio-help-usb-power-headphone-connection/ Share on other sites
MR_Candyman
easiest way: run a wire with an in-line fuse to a cigarette adapter socket then use a usb car charger (or ipod car charger if that's what you have). For the amp to power the speakers you'll run another wire (guage dependant on power output of amp) from the battery with a fuse block. The negative terminals for both will be grounded to the chassis.
