Hello all,

Vista's taskbar height is "supposed" to be = 30px.

However, in practice, I?ve found it to be 32px (perhaps its because I have re-sized my screen from its native resolution to 1400?900?)

In any case, this is important for me as I always create my wallpapers with a dedicated area available for the actual visible real estate (i.e. every pixel above the task bar, hence, my default "workable" canvas for wallpapers are 1400?868 ?> thus my calculation for a 32px Vista taskbar height).

At any rate, what is W7?s exact taskbar height? I've read that if you enable "small icons" that it is "supposed" to be the same height as Vista's, but again the original question remains --> 30px or 32px? (if it is exactly the same as Vista in my experience).

Thanks!

On 1280x1024 it's exactly 30px on mine with small icons. The windows "start" orb obviously extends over the top a little but the bar is exactly 30

With large icons its 40px

Many thanks for the reply. If you had the inclination, would it be possible to see if the height changes if you switch your screen resolution to 1400x900?

I'm not sure if this is going to make any difference?

Thanks again.

Awhile back I moved my taskbar to the side and when I moved it back to the bottom it was way fatter. I asked here if anyone knew how to fix it and got an answer in about a minute which worked. I've forgotten what it is but it hasn't been mentioned here yet. Anyone?

What version of Windows are you using? Does unlocking the taskbar and manually resizing it work? Otherwise, I know that sometimes on Windows XP that my taskbar height would get messed up when I would move it from the bottom to the side and back because of certain toolbars. Moving the toolbars around would fix it.

For real? Its two pixals, I don't care what kind of wallpaper you create it won't be effected to a row two pixels high!

Anyways, no there won't be a difference in taskbar height between screen resolutions.

It's complete trash - half the features I need in (Classic) Outlook are just missing in New Outlook. I haven't talked to a single person who actually likes the new client.

"Hey Siri, help me write this document about shoes." Powered by Google. "Sure thing, while we're here, can I interest you on some Nike's? They're on sale at Target right now!"
