the better choice ased on my hardware

Recommended Posts

I've been wondering for a long time whether or not I could run Vista 64bit on my computer. my specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor

2GB RAM

nvidia GeForce 6600GT graphics card.

Intel K8N-SLI motherboard

If I can, in fact, use 64bit, will it be a better choice than sticking with 32 bit?

* Sorry for the typo in the thread title, I can't fix it now.

Hello,

Could you have a GigaByte GA K8N SLI motherboard? Intel does not make motherboards for AMD Athlon CPUs.

The 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7 should run on your computer, however, you might want to consider upgrading to at least 4GB of memory. A faster CPU and video card will also improve the performance of the computer, regardless of whether or not you install a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system.
