In response to this news post.

There has been many questions on how to get that neowin.net link in the start menu.

Well, I have moved it here because the paste we did with the registry info was jacked by the restrictions of no "\" in comments.

Doubleclick on reg file available below, and click yes to merge.

You need to either restart, or logoff and logon for changes to take effect.

Again all the links:

Also some more, but you have to rename the icon that you want to Neowin.ico and place in the system root of your system in order for it to work with the reg file.

Cos zip file is large, i can add as attachments but this is a screenie of the Neowin icons i have in my storage. IS up to people here, if they want me to upload i will.

There was a program that would let you add shortcuts to the right side of XPs Start Menu. It would let you browse for the program and the icon. I'll see if I can dig it up.

yes yes, this would be nice...

And this is nice, I just wish it took you directly to the board instead of the site...

FIx the following things as you want...

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}]

@="(Your Display Command)"

"InfoTip"="(Your infotip)"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\DefaultIcon]

@="(Your Icon, bitmap is fine)"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]

"Command"="(Your Display Command)"

"Param1"="(Your command or site)"

Good luck.

I updated the thread yet again, i hope this totally answers and helps you all out.

::update::

OK I am making a small program to do just this. I should have it finished within the next week.

It's compiled in C++, and lets you enter the values for what is needed then you apply.

Simple, so look for it here in teh coming week.

Thanks Again,
