(Spork)
I like this (Y). Though probably won't use it if I have to screw with DLL files. I'm done doing that. :) DLLS? Thanks but my explorer.exe version is newer. thats cool he includes the image files to change them yourself Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591803054 Share on other sites

It's a lot easier to use UxStyle by Rafael. All it does is adds a service called "Unsigned Themes" and no patching/rebooting required, so the bold part is wrong. :p Edited November 5, 2009 by WizardCM Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591805038 Share on other sites

Well I remember having to reboot 3 times before it worked. :p And if you used it before 13th July then try it again, because I remember there was a problem with it after reboot. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591805178 Share on other sites
WizardCM
Sorry for the double post but... I noticed with a light background it's quite hard to tell the difference between an active and inactive window. ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591805316 Share on other sites

Ugly.!! gotta make it again from top.. i just dont understand the weird grey tone thing in WIN7 pngs.. i mean.. why cant white b white grey b grey and black b black?? WizardCM
When I spoke about the difference between active and inactive windows, I wasn't talking about the shadows. I mean make the active windows stronger, and the inactive ones lighter... if you catch my drift. :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591805836 Share on other sites

Yeah the transparency on PNGs is rendered differently (exception of Aero) and if you don't convert them to have proper alpha for Windows to read then it looks like that. .Neo
My main problem with Aero is that there is almost no difference between active and non-active windows. This theme makes that issue even worse, which is a bit of a weak spot. Other than that, it looks great. (Y) well i disagree.. the default aero has such a big difference that it looks like the selected window is made out of marble and the unselected is a sheet of plastic :p in my theme the difference is subtle.. but its enough to not get confused. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591809234 Share on other sites

Thats probably why Microsoft made the Taskbar button's image embedded into "explorer.exe" Edited November 6, 2009 by WizardCM Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/840424-visual-style-in-the-making/page/4/#findComment-591809706 Share on other sites
KeeperOfThePizza
I've tried it and you can. Zain Adeel
i think the same. it shouldve been in the theme :) anyhow. its not hard to change the orb and if u want the original u have to do nothing because the orb isnt in the theme.. nor are the folder icons.
