::::::::::::::::::::::

Anyways. People. Ive just released an update to the theme. Download and use that!!!! :D

here is the link and ill copy paste the update list here.

Win7-Blend for Windows 7 v1.2

UPDATES:

1. The thumbnail preview window shadow is now final, fixed. (It is just like the shadow of windows)

2. The Show desktop Button is complete.

3. Changed the buttons of the panel below addressbar of windows explorer.

4. The startmenu search area is now grey instead of blue.

5. And the most important update. Now when you hover over the caption buttons of an unselected window, the button shine is not there (just the glow).

Nice (Y)

Is there anyway you can set the caption buttons to only show the blue/red glow? Right now it kind of gives off an outline of the button like what it would do if the caption buttons were still segmented.

dude i dont know what thing is causing that bug. Once i find it out ill fix it. I know when u move over it it first shows u strong borders and then fades to the glow ... but i dont know what is causing those strong borders..

thank u :)

You could run a LiveCD of Linux, then backup your stuff like that...

And also, I bet it isn't your user account that got corrupted... but a modification in the theme, happened to me when I made small modifications to the Aero theme... Oh well, I bet you've already reinstalled by now. :(

well ive jumped onto the RTM ... :)

:p

when it came back my Pc was logged into a temporary account and i couldnt access my account.. and the theme werent working aswell..

Good to know you found out the problem.. and that you are on the RTM now. :D

well yea :)

and my theme works perfectly on x86 RTM..

and yea

for people who see white shine lines on taskbar.. they are running the universal theme patch wrong..

they have to run it in administrator mode and with UAC off!!!!.. and after that restart.. then apply the theme and restart again :) and ur done..

What are you talking about? It doesn't even take a second to see it and realize [you] don't like it. 5 seconds in PS to zoom and highlight? 6 seconds is hardly any time at all.

ignore him.

I noticed it right away too but I thought that was what he was going for, but I like the idea of changing that to a lighter white like the rest of it to make it look seamless with the entire Superbar instead of a separate piece.

ok.

i am posting a screenshot with both the taskbar on top and bottom.

leme know if that one pixel is fixed orite :)

~snip

 Thats worse, and it's not what I meant.

I mean change 1 pixel so it looks like this:

post-284024-1257745352_thumb.png

If you look the button fits into it. Thats what I want. :p

i have fixed it :s

i seriously dont c that one pixel thing .. mayb i dont understand.. can u explain what u want me to do :s

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I GET ITTTTTTTTTTTTT :p

seriously i get it ..

but dude.. think..

its a seperate button.. if i join the highlight line.. it would look unlrealistic.. how can a button.. glass button be seperate, showing a shadow between but has a join highlight.. ?? u get my drift??

i think ive perfected it for the top and bottom users ..

that is why i put that highlight line on the bottom aswell on the top :) to make it more universal

Simply make it that the one pixel doesn't highlight.. but the rest of the button does. Just like it is now, how the border doesn't highlight.

Simply change that pixel to the color next to it. :)

Ignore the grid, it just helps me label specific pixels and it shows when I take a screenshot of a zoomed in image from PS. ;)

Also, the highlight line on the side that it isn't on v1.2 should stay off. I really don't like it like that. :)

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
    • you can also do this with this tool: PowerSettingsExplorer made by mbk1969 at 3dguru forum.. I found it by accident researching on modern standby and annoying quirks of it in 2022
