[Android] XPERIA X10 by Sony Ericsson

Recommended Posts

Thought id make a topic about this phone.

Looks great!

Touchscreen

: 4.0 inch, scratch-resistant touchscreen with 480 x 854 pixels display (WVGA resolution)

Memory:

1 GB of internal memory (meaning you’ll probably won’t have to worry about running out of app space), support for microSD cards, and an included 8GB memory card

Timescape -

Sony Ericsson’s answer to the increasingly-popular trend of integrating contact activity into one central location. It has an intuitive way of centralizing Facebook, Twitter, photos, emails, and texts in into one place. An “infinite button” will show the connections in one view.

Mediscape -

Sony Ericsson’s beautiful twist on music and video organization and playback on Android. Organize music, photos, and videos from your favorite friends or artists, YouTube, PlayNow, and the items stored on your phone/SD card. Face recognition for up to five people in one photo can automatically recognize your friends and connect to your phonebook. So, if you load new photos, the phone will be able to link them to your friends John and Amy’s profiles.

Bluetooth:

Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), FM Radio support, and a wireless stereo headset that streams music with “sound-enhancing ear-buds.”

Device:

Colors available: Sensuous Black and Luster White (direct quotes, so please don’t accuse me of sexual harassment!)

Camera:

8.1 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, auto focus, face recognition, geo tagging, image stabilization, light control, video recording, and easy send to web features

Misc:

A-GPS, Wisepilot GPS navigation trial, 3.5 mm audio jack, PlayNow, and TrackID support

Thing is mine as soon it's out. Too bad it won't have OLED.

Anyway, a Sony Ericsson developer posted a demo of Speed Forge 3D on the X10 on Youtube. If that video isn't some fake ****, it's pretty capable hardware. Higher framerate at higher resolution than the Magic and loads in a fraction of the time. If it manages to run that game at this rate, it'll probably do fine with the xScape apps once they're done coding them. Some floating cards are less vertexes than a full blown game.

For a certain time, having a Sony Ericsson was a cool thing. That honeymoon's over since long.

Haha..spot on my man :)

They wouldn't even register on most peoples radars. Android this, Iphone that..even Samsung is getting around..and we can't forget about ol Nokia :D

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
