Top Gear Series 14

Recommended Posts

Well the BBC were the first to admit that Top Gear was its Superbrand (CashCow) and they were going to exploit it as such. So for a few years they have liscenced the crappy merchandise, the DVD's, The Live Tour (Which was actually good, I went) and they have made the money so they can use it to fund other areas of the BBC. Needless to say that the BBC will continue to make Top Gear in the format that everyone knows and people will still continue to watch it.

> Lexus LFA - exactly what is the point? Does nothing better than any of the other supercars available and costs more than most of them... FAIL

> BMW X6 - shock and awe as Jeremy disses a BMW SUV.. said everything I would have said about it. Vulgar crap - it deserves to fail, hard.

Slightly disappointed at the blatant time wasting and so forth.. not sure wtf that was about! Will be glad when Top Gear is back on our TV's again though!!

That was a terrible episode. Trying to make jokes out of the fact they had nothing to fill the show with when obviously they really didn't. Should have ended the series in Bolivia. The awards are nothing but terrible jokes recycled from the year before. I think the best bit of that was Seasick Steve making music out of Moris Minor parts. Everything else was crap.

Finally having watched it I must say that was appropriate encore after Bolivia special. And in some ways less fake then lots of the previous episodes. Thou thats probably due to the fact that they indeed had nothing much to say left :D Also Jeremy's BMW review. HA :D

Bugatti Veyron for car of the decade, saw that coming a mile away!

As it should be.

I like this episode more than the last few. The episode felt tamer, like they weren't try too hard; and that's a good thing.

I think I'm done with Top Gear - it's become a pale imitation of it's former self... it's almost as if the 3 hosts have been replaced by actors pretending to be the 3 hosts.

Every series is becoming the same:

"Oh let's go on holiday"

"Oh let's find the best driving road in XYZ"

"Let's race long / wide / otherwise not-normal vehicles"

"Let's build something and then drive it somewhere to see how people react"

"Let's start a fire"

"Let's do a ridiculous challenge like fly a blimp built from a car"

"Let's get given ?1000 to buy an old car then go to a destination for the stig to race it. On the way we'll break down, go the wrong way, bump into each other's cars and generally be c*cks"

at least it's better than most of the sh*te on tv atm. depressing soaps, reality shows (big brother blah), dancing shows etc.

is the season over? because today's episode was a "best of"

Yeah, last week's ****fest of an episode was the last of the series. Now we have to wait until June for the next one. Hope they can pull their socks up for that one. The summer series seem to end up better than the winter ones though.

    • I use it by choice but only for specific tasks that I have forgotten and it's quicker to ask then spend time wasted finding a decent answer on Google or coding a certain language. I prefer to use it. I do think that as it gets integrated into everything, when we eventually fully rely on it, I'm talking new gens not older gens like me, that we won't think for ourselves, I mean we will become lazy thinkers, lazy logical answer to problem which will go badly. But if we don't become fully dependant, we might be OK but I don't think personally we are going to be OK, not for the newer generations. Unless they advance in that space to the next level of intelligence where it can work out its own problems and create ideas for itself.
    • Pity the article on MS website gives no indication when said "20%" performance gains will actually be rolled out to users.
    • I just looked on my computer and there are settings and log files for utilities I have never even turned on!
    • O&O ShutUp10 3.1.1104 by Razvan Serea O&O ShutUp10 offers a simple yet effective way to take control of your Windows privacy. It provides access to almost 50 privacy-related tweaks, most of them hidden or not easily accessible to the average computer users. Using a very simple interface, you decide how Windows 10/11 should respect your privacy by deciding which unwanted functions should be deactivated. Using ShutUp10 you can easily disable Windows Defender, turn off telemetry, disable peer-to-peer updates, turn off Wi-Fi Sense, disable automatic Windows updates, turn off and reset Cortana and more. ShutUp10 allows you to create a System Restore point before you apply any changes, so that you can revert your system at any time if you run into problems. O&O ShutUp10 is entirely free and does not have to be installed – it can be simply run directly and immediately on your PC. And it will not install or download retrospectively unwanted or unnecessary software, like so many other programs do these days! O&O ShutUp10 Free and Premium The latest version brings O&O ShutUp10 Premium, expanding the app’s long-standing privacy controls with automatic enforcement of user-defined settings. Instead of manually rechecking options after every Windows update, users can set their preferred privacy configuration once—or apply recommended settings in a single click—and the tool continuously monitors them in the background. If Windows 10 or 11 re-enables disabled features or introduces new data collection paths, Premium restores the chosen settings automatically without user intervention. The free version remains available and fully functional for manual adjustments, offering the same core privacy controls for Windows. However, the Premium tier is aimed at users who want long-term, hands-off protection, adding automatic reapplication after updates, ongoing monitoring, and optional notifications to ensure privacy settings remain consistent over time.
