iPhone Battery Life

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

So I only go my new phone last week and I have noticed that I am having to charge it every night.

Today my usage so far has been

Usage - 1hr 52mins and standby is at 12hrs 25mins and its at 46% is that about right ?

Thanks

Matthew

You talked on the phone for 1hr and 52 mins? If so, 46% sounds about right. I think they say w/ 3g talk its 4 hours, and 2g talk its 5 hours. If you listened to music for almost 2 hours and the battery was down to 46% I'd say there is something wrong.

I have to charge my iPhone every night and I use it heavily throughout the day. It isn't as bad as my friend/co-worker's blackberry bold. He has to keep that thing on the charger while he is at work. And it is just as new as my iPhone. So I think saying the iPhone has the worst battery life is not fair.

Not only talking, it also takes in the time you've kept the screen on, for anything.

The iPhone does have a low battery life. I'm a heavy user, mostly for text messaging and internet access and I have to charge it every night.

I use it for exact same reason, on my 3G which is only 10months old already. And I don't even have 3G enabled on it, and its down to about 35% every night.

I wouldnt call it so much Low. I do the same as you. Most text internet and apps time to time. But dairly activity considers texting and internet/facebook app and eliminatepro for a quick match.

let me tell you, charging this phone everynight is not a bad thing. My old Nokia N75 which technically "lasted" 2 days should of been charged everyday. That battery meter was so misleading.

With the iPhone, Ive pulled heavy texting, internet about an hour usage and facebook/games for almost 2 full days.

I was at 2% and got home at like 10pm and charged it. It is personally for me good battery life for a phone that does so much. If I abuse it in one day, it goes from 10am to 10 pm and has like 20% or alittle lower battery life.

I dont mind it, but ive had it since june 16th. I have a 32 GIG 3GS iPhone. Charge it via AC.

Edit: I have 3G on and never use it, so my battery life could improve alittle more. I might turn it off since I dont leave my city much. When I do then im in 3G areas. But anyway, 3G/Wifi/Push/Local are on.

3GS 3 weeks old

Removed from charge @ 95% this morning (0745) @ 70% now (1415) [Wasn't charging over night, just topped up after leaving next to my bed over night]

Wifi on, 3g on, location services on, push on...and I rarely have a 3G signal....and rarely connected to a WIFI network mainly using GPRS at work :(

Browsed the web for about 40mins, facebook for about 30mins sent a few texts....but meh I know
