damn to lock the system to one wallpaper seems pretty stupid to me.

I completely agree. That's what I was getting at earlier... Why not lock down something else, like number of apps that can be run at once, rather than something as minor as the wallpaper?

Of course, the entire existence of Win7 Starter Edition is monumentally retarded in the first place.

Guys, all this thrashing around isn't necessary... There's a very easy way to change your Windows 7 Starter Edition wallpaper. All you need is a small, free app called Starter Background Changer. (This is not the ?Oceanis? app of the same name, which restricts you to its own built-in pictures... It?s an app written by a guy in France named Renaud Gerson.) I've used it for months now, and it works great.

You can read about it here at How-To Geek. The app itself is in English, but its setup program is in French?so the How-To Geek page shows you which buttons you?ll need to click. (It?s easy.) Then you can follow the link at the end of the page to download the app right from the author?s site.
